battery error and fans issue
sorry not sure if the best place to put this
So I was on vacation since 22nd dec and only had the BM off the drive to shovel snow 1 or 2 (engine running for around 30mins) So yesterday night had to move the cars on the drive as was going to work this AM Car Struggled but started, all the LCD's where foggy and I got a "battery discharge" error (temp last night was around-20) now the demister worked fine with the blower BUT the vents showed as if they where working (i.e. the lights where on) BUT no blower speed (you could adjust the blower speed but nothing happened) Hitting Auto did the same as did hitting the AC button So I did a long drive (to Guelph and back about 87km - on the highway) Engine warmed up fine stopped at the 40km mark filled up with Gas and the battery error went The vent fans still didnt work, although heat was trickling through the vents. This morning again (-21) and battery error came up but the vents and blowers where all working fine. Any ideas on the battery error, havent checked the codes or battery yet |

I am unsure if this is related but sounds like it.
Recently its been below freezing in NY and my car was sitting through the bomb cyclone and for a few days without starting. The day I started it up it really struggled to turn on, no battery warning but time setting was gone. I was convinced my blower motor went out for like the 3rd time because I turned on the heater right as I turned the car on, nothing. Sounded like the vents were actuating but no blowing. Turned it off and drove for around 45 mins freezing before I tried again, it started working. Might be related to the freezing temps, it's been working and I don't put on the fans as soon as I start my car anymore. No battery error but my time keeps disappearing. |

txs for the reply,
I think with the fans things, there must be like an internal actuator and I guess sensors , if something freezes up, the fan wont blow if the "gate" is closed the up vent to the windscreen has no internal mechanism and I guess thats why it worked. When everything was frozen I coulndt hear any mechanisms moving as they would normally. Guess that sucks in a cold climate not very good for $45k grands worth of car neither |
