Euro plate to US front adapter?
So, my plates came in and I discovered that since the car was originally a US military purchase delivered in Germany, the front bumper holes were drilled for a euro plate. They're too far apart to mount a standard US plate. I'd like to avoid drilling 2 more holes, so anyone know of an adapter that would work for this? I checked the auto parts store and they only had plate mounts for standard width plates.
I could custom fab one of course, but if they're under $25 or so I'd rather just order one and save the time making one. I found this part #51181859871 but no pics of it, as well as this one #51115470019, so I'm not sure if it's what I'm looking for. Last edited by sea6speed; 05-10-2013 at 02:35 PM.. |

3M double-sided automotive adhesive strips is your best best. Sticks like hell and comes off clean. Not sure if that helps covering the holes that were previously drilled, but at least you wouldn't have to drill new ones.

You need one of these US plate holders: BMW #51118045504
I would use double sided tape instead of screws to attach it.
