2008 CR 135i Half Cage/Doc Race 6062/ AKG/ Fuel IT

Hey everyone,

AS OF APRIL 2016

Just recently got a 2008 135i in Crimson Red, got the car from a family friend. Had some BMW's in the past but this one is by far my favorite. Its got around 40ish thousand miles and completely stock(For now). Learning as i go so please correct me if i am wrong.

Recently got my car some goodies thanks to Elliot at Mod Bargains :

Wheels
VMR VB3
Front
18x85
et40
Back
18x9.5
et45
Matte Black

Also decided to order a CF rear diffusor:
Went with a Ebay 2 fin carbon fiber diffusor.

Going to be updating very soon once everything is on the car.

Last purchase was matte black kidney grills.
Couldn't decide if i wanted a polished to go with shadow trim or the matte to go with the wheels so went with matte.

Lastly some photos of my buddies 135i HFP car and 2009 e92 M3 and parents cars:

Welcome Antonio. Those VB3's should look excellent on your Crimson Red. Nice choice!

So I had my dad helping with the rear spoiler install and removal of the current spoiler and the much hated glue. The wing came from Taiwan and the weave is really nice and fitment was great! forever to get all the glue off, definitely wasn't fun. Here are pictures of the cf one, cf and stock, and cf installed but not completely set. Should be done by the time Santa arrives.

For the install, we used all kinds of stuff like goof off and other cleaners and still took forever to get all the glue off, definitely wasn't fun. Here are pictures of the cf one, cf and stock, and cf installed but not completely set. Should be done by the time Santa arrives.

Very happy with fitment and the look! Will take pictures once its set in the next couple days! Merry Christmas!!

The wheels and cf spoiler look good with your crimson red color. Nice choices. Put some blackline taillights on to complete the look. Don't forget all black, or black and chrome grills. Happy xmas to you too.

Black wheels aren't my thing, but these go well with the CR. Love the 703s in general tho.

It is not. Used to be on H&R Sport springs, but that was a bad idea. Rode terribly/bottomed out front struts and the ride height was too low in the front/stock height in the rear.. Here's a pic when it was setup like that.. and when I had only had my car for a week, looking so stock (not thread jacking I promise, I just love CR )

Really??: didn't care for the springs? I got the Cobb ones and it's only suppose to lower a little bit. Another guy on here has the same setup I went for and said he loved it. We'll see Monday! Here is the rear lip photo

Not meaning to thread jack either, but here are some pics of my car with the BMW performance suspension, with BMW's yellow Performance springs. Supposed to be a 10mm drop. I think it's the perfect ride height. Car feels a little stiffer and very much composed. A little expensive, but very happy with this set-up and wanted to stay all BMW. Would do it again. Again, not meaning to thread jack, but we did get to talking about ride height.
Don't worry about it! I honestly love the input and feedback. I hope the Cobb aren't too low or make the car drive any worse. That looks awesome and just low enough to not worry about bumps or potholes! BTW i did get new grilles in today.

They are for ECStuning and I am not a huge fan of them yet. Feel like the gap in between hood and grilles is too big.

Here is another picture:

Exhaust thoughts?? Don't want to go with a downpipes just yet. I would like a pretty loud catback system. Any suggestions?! I've look through posts and the Berk Race is one i was thinkking. Cp-e as well.

Your car is coming along great, I really like the concavity of your VB3's. Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work

A lot of people buy BMW Performance exhaust. It sounds really good, and when combined with BMW PPK, you get a very sporty popping and crackling in engine overrun. Plus, you get 20 additional horsepower with PPK, which is what it's really for.

Here's a good example of what it sounds like. I use this example a lot, because it sounds the best imho. This is not my car or my video, but belongs to another member. My car sounds just like this:
Good to hear since this was my first time ordering from them. Only thing is i ordered BMW m logo for the wheels and they weren't in the package. So will call on Monday. I hope they grow on me. They did come extremely quick.

My parents have a 2014 335is and the exhaust on it sounds really good but i would want to be louder then that. I love the snarl of the exhaust. Sounds great.

Personally, I think you have a better car than your parents. It's smaller, lighter, looks better imo, has the potential to sound better and be faster. It's more of a "drivers" car. The cockpit is simple and focused. With a little suspension work, they can handle really well. You see 335s everywhere. 135s are more rare, different and unique. Besides, they don't make them anymore. Destined to be a classic.

Rear Diffuser just came in. Ordered off eBay. The weave is really nice and the quality looks good. The mesh inserts came in a silver color which I didn't really care for. Decided to spray paint the mesh so taped the carbon fiber up and got to painting. Springs have to wait till next week but tonight I should be making an attempt to install this bad boy.

Something about those grilles is off.. maybe the outer rim is too thick? I dunno.. but for exhaust, my vote is kittyless dp's, N55 mids and PE catback
