Common gripe for motorized seats. Do you have a problem with manual seats? I'm 5'10, love seating position but have manual seats.

not that the car isn't a great value or anything but if I could "change" anything I would have chosen more colors for the interior and exterior, a bit more feel in the clutch pedal, sportier seats (like the BMW performance), lighter, more direct steering, and the ability to leave the car in sport/MDM or DSC off each time I started it. all of the OPs gripes are valid but not things I personally hate.

funny hearing about these drone complaints. This is an enthusiasts getaway car. For me on every M the louder and more brutal and nasty the better. Cant wait to get my ESS tune and Akrapovic installed.

I'm in the camp that doesn't hate anything about the car. I love this car. Could it be improved? Yeah, there's a few little things. Coming from 6 years in a Mini, I tend to stress about my fuel supply but that's no big deal. The different colored headlights don't bug me at all.

What does bug me, is the fact that I have one of the rarest BMW has ever made. I mean...my face is really hurting from all the smiling I do when I'm driving this badass down the road.

Hmmm... nothing really.

Maybe that I enjoy driving it on the track so much that I've already gone through one set of tires and three sets of brake pads

No 'hate' here. Only few "could have even been better" stuff. IMHO it's the best fun package around for that money. No 'hate' here. BMW spoiled us.

I haven't received my car yet (only a few more weeks!). But the only issues I have are not with the car, but with BMW NA. I would have preferred an ala carte option list so I could specify exactly which options instead of having to accept the premium and convenience packages. For example, I would have preferred manual seats, but had to get the powered seats in order to get other options I desired.

I also think they could have handled the ordering and allocation process better. Regardless, I suspect all of these concerns will fade away once I take delivery in a few weeks.

I don't own a 1M, so I'll only slightly disagree that "BMW spoiled us".

If the car was produced for multiple years and was easily available at, or below MSRP, I would agree.

With a 1-year run, at a limited quantity, I would say "BMW teased us". Only a select few of you (i.e. 1M current/future owners) are spoiled.

Just curious what options you wanted but could not get without having power seats, as I just wanted power seats, HK, IPod and Bluetooth.

I insisted on comfort access and the navigation screen/idrive (I don't need navigation per se, but using ipod/iphone integration without idrive sucks, and I want BMW Apps in the event cool 3rd party iOS apps become available). If memory serves correctly, these options required ordering convenience and premium packages.

The other option related issue is the lack of home link. That just makes zero sense.

6, 7 & 9 for me...
I would add
11. Missing front bumper sensors.
12. Missing Home link and compass in the rear view mirror.

My gripe is that people drive them to autox to show them off, not to race.

I hate the fact that after only ~5 1/2 months of ownership my car is sitting at the dealership waiting to have a new altenator installed.

I got a battery charge malfunction warning while driving home from work earlier this week. Took the car into the dealership the next day to have it checked out and it turned out the alternator went bad.

I understand these sort of premature failures occur from time to time; i just never expected it to happen to me...lol

I know in the big scheme of things its a relatively minor issue thats easy to fix, but i cant help but be bummed out in the meantime since my car is out of commission for a couple of days!!

I dunno...maybe im just being spoiled...

I'm also wondering why. I have a car ('05 model year) that is a high power rear-wheel drive LSD and that has NO traction control... at all (or ESP or any other electronic oversight). So why would it be against the law in the US to have the MDM mode the default mode?

Concerning seating height, I am 6' 3" with electric seats, and have about 3-4" of headroom in the car, so no problem there.

The only thing I did was remove the rear headrests (they just slide out) and it gives it a much clearer and unobstructed view out the rear window - my 1M is my daily driver.

I did add aluminum performance pedals and the performance alcantera steering wheel cover just to personalize the interior a bit though.

Im 6-5 with manual seats and no issues

After 800 miles...of course I would like to change a few things but none of them are even close to deal breakers...just wishes. More power, lower ride height in the front, compass in mirror, smoother engagement in clutch and carbon fiber roof Honestly, the only car I really hate is my wifes X5. That has enough annoyances that I would not purchase another one. The M1 is pure bliss right now. I ordered it simple and it has not dissapointed me.

Unhappy

Ok, let me weigh in here. I sold my 1998 M1 ( bought it new ) last month so that I could buy my 1M which I pick up at PCD on 12/2. After reading these downbeat posts, I am getting concerned. I bought this car sight unseen as did many others. I believd that it is very similar to my M3. Am I wrong?
