16" Steel Wheels for 128i Winter Setup

Hello all,
I am curious if anyone knows how I could find out if these wheels clear the brakes and calipers on my 128i? Bone stock 128s come with 16" Style 360s in 16x7 ET44

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...SC0ZFEJPKVD309

The bolt pattern, hub bore and offset seem appropriate and I would much rather pay for a set of dedicated winter wheels than keep switching rubbers on the stock wheels. Additionally, replacement tire costs are 10-20% cheaper on the 16s than 17s.

I'm all for 16" wheels for winter use, but I prefer alloys to steelies. I can't speak for those particular wheels, but steel rims can be a little tighter on clearance. I bought a used set of E46 (I think) 5-spokes and threw on a set of Conti WinterSportSIs, which I like. Unless you're committed to buying new, there's lots of used 16" stuff out there that will work.

Is there any fitment issues with the 16" wheel? What size tire would be best?

I go with the stock 205/55 for winter on 16" alloy wheels. I don't think you need to over think about it. I found it works very well in Michigan winter.

I ended up settling on a set of BMW Style 43 : http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/bmw/43

They pair nicely with a set of 215/60/16 tires. Nice tall sidewall

anyone fitting 16"s over brembo brakes on 135i?

Last edited by niceast; 03-16-2020 at 08:05 PM.. Reason: reason: road condition are not suitable for a daily 18" with low profile tires. I need more comfortable ride-ability
