Came out great. Question: Did you back roll or just shoot the paint?

I wanted to redo my garage and spraying the paint seemed like a huge plus because of time savings but I've read that using a roller after is recommended. I just painted the entire upstairs last summer so more painting by hand was not something I was looking forward to doing anytime soon.

Less money on buying rollers and saving half the time now. I've painted my entire house by hand but I only looked into the spray gun because there's no way you can paint the ceiling with a roller and brush and making it look flawlessly. Also, because the wall isn't completely flat but brick the roller wouldn't have done a great job

Alright so I have been getting a lot of things taken care of around here.

We had new windows and a sliding glass door installed. They are from a company here called FHIA (florida home improvement associates). The windows are PVC and the glass is laminated (impact) double pane, argon gas filled, with LOE-366 and NEAT coating. Because the laminated part isn't their top of the line thickness (thinner is cheaper but still does the job) they can't technically say the windows are impact. But they will hold to 140 MPH.
The house is a lot quieter and cooler now. Before these the house was rocking single pane no coating aluminum windows from 1999.

Here is the sliding glass door. Now this is impact. Florida code is changing. I'm technically on the coast and the code is moving to impact for sliding glass doors.

This is one window I had the style changed on. This was a double single hung but I wanted more of a crisp clean view out the bedroom window.

Today we have stucco guys out to fix the bottom trim of the house. It's rusting everywhere and I also have a hole in the back of the house where you can see wood. (thank you stimulus check for allowing me the possibility to get this fixed)

I'm going to start redoing the baseboards. It has the traditional style that looks wavy. Thats the best way I can describe it. I'm changing to a more modern style which is pretty much a 1x4. The bedrooms were done when we did the floors. I just never caulked the joints till the wife and I worked in the fish/snake/workout room.

With all the free time due to thins whole thing I finally got some time on my hands to build a mantle shelf in my LR. Came up with the design myself after viewing some different mountings at HD.

I am assuming you bought the twisted look and didn't carve/route that yourself?

Also the curved TV reminds me of one of those fun house mirror rooms

Yes all the mounding was purchased not routed myself. That would have been impressive though lol.

The TV I’ve had for a good 5-6 years now but it’s 4K and there’s nothing wrong with it ha.

Oh yea, and living close to an airport and having big trucks constantly drive by kept me on edge. But now, wow what a difference.

Quick update.

The footings and stem walls have been poured. The forms were being removed when I snapped the picture.

Next up is some backfilling and then the garage and basement slabs will get poured.

Finally a little more progress on my carport/washbay project. I am going to dress it up a little bit so it doesnt look so plain but I am happy with it.

Now I have to start trimming it out and work on the pressure washer room and lighting. I am very excited.

Where did you get the idea/plans for that? I assume you are charging it through solar?

Haweye, yes it charges through 400W of solar on the back of my house.

Im currently in the process of adding another 6 kw. Im processing the 18650's from unused comcast modem packs

I also recent finished my 2.1 kw portable solar generator for camping

I have a small yourtube channel if you interested in this stuff.

Completed removing all the old romex wires from the basement ceiling that were just completely hanging and going in every direction like freakin spaghetti. Installed all new can lights throughout and ran new romex wires attaching them completely flush into the corners of the floor joist so that way when I paint the ceiling black you won't notice them. All cavities completely clean now without romex wires, phone lines, cable lines, ect hanging and going every direction possible. Looked like a freakin rat nest. Should be able to start painting tomorrow

This is great, and I'm sure a separate thread is better for this but I have many questions. I'll just ask the one - in what capacity/function is this installed?

Is designed to act as a buffer for grid tie electricity to prevent brownouts/blackouts - like say during a storm? Or are you using it for something else?

Awesome, thanks. Subbed for when I finally get through my list of woodworking projects. I am about finished up on running dust collection around my shop and will post some pictures on that today, then I get to build out my mitre saw table with drawers, which will also house my drill press, then build a small mobile table for my planer and an infeed/outfeed table for my table saw.... THEN I can get to making some of the projects

Seth, it is not grid tied. Originally i built it because in Texas when the hurricanes hit we tend to loose power for a week or two and this was an emergency supply of power i could use. But now i actually use it to power my garage and my garage AC. I work in my garage on weekends, run AC all day and then during the week the solar recharges the pack.

This is the kind of thing that is perfect for a shed or barn as a way to get power there without running wires. Also good way to get 220v. You can configure the inverter for 220v if you need to run a welder or something needing 220v.
