Tire advise needed!
Alright so getting more into Autocross/driving events and bought a new set of wheels. Apex group buy 17x9 +42 arc 8.
This is not my daily. 2008 bmw 135i, stage 2. I have some driving experince ( a couple autocrosses and a driver clinic). But have been advised from going full race before having more experience. Looking to run a square set up 255/40/R17. Was originally going to buy PS4s but they only come in 245/40/R17. Think these will fit the bill? One of the things I like about The car is it’s playful. I don’t want to have too much grip and it not be as “exciting”. Or do I just step up into a more dedicated tire. If so open to suggestions! Thank you in advanced! |

Thanks for participating in the group buy!
We actually recommend the 245/40-17s for this chassis when running the 17x9 ET42. With most 245s, you will need spacers and negative camber in the front and rolled fenders + negative camber in the rear to achieve a rub-free fitment. You can run 255/40-17s, but this requires more negative camber on all 4 corners. 245s should be plenty, especially if you are trying to keep the car playful. Thanks -Tom

Thanks for the input, went with the PS4s in 245/40-17, so far so good. They don't look stretched either which is a huge relief! Just got alignment done and now ready to enjoy.
