Clear coat looks hazy?

I recently took my car to the shop to have my driver side door resprayed (someone backed into my car overnight) and they washed my car after the job was done. I noticed a small section where it looked hazy. At first i thought it was wax, but upon further inspection i have no idea whats wrong. Im thinking some took a rag to that spot and tried to rub something out?

I was wondering if this is something a couple coats of zaino would fix?

Most likely Zaino would fix that - let the paint harden for a month or so then apply Z5 and Z2, with CS Spray.

Put a light at roughly 45 degrees to the surface and look at the area. Is it haze (discoloration) or micro-scratches (small lines)?

zAIO followed by z5 will repair and cover up fine-to-small micro-scratches. Deeper scratches will require a polish. Zaino sells zPC Fusion which is a hand-applied polish, never tried it myself. Menzerna polishes are popular (I use them) but require machine application.

If it is haze, it might go away once the paint is fully cured. A good claybar treatment and cleaning might even fix it. If it doesn't go away in a month you can try a heavy polish or if its really bad - take it back to the paint shop.

Hard to be very specific without more info/pics.

I will take pics by the end of the weekend. However I forgot to mention that this haziness appears on a section of the car that wasn't repaired. it looks like someone tried really hard to wipe something off. I wasplnnin on claying then z2 z5 maybe zaio and zcs.

Like said above, use a fluorescent light to see what the damage on the area is, either haziness or micro-scratches. If they are micro-scratches, you're going to need some decent swirl remover, like Z-PC, which I used with a orbital last weekend and it worked fairly well or one of the Menzerna products.

I would say post a picture, but more than likely you will need to polish that section out.

Ill get pics up soon. It's been raining over here. The more I look over my car, the more swirls and micro scratches i'm finding. I'm really regretting taking my car to the bmw shop for repair.

Agreed with above. Probably not a big deal, and some clay with a mild polish would probably do the trick.

If you're unhappy with the job the BMW shop did, then if it were me, I would hesitate taking the car back there. I'd doubt that they could right the wrong.
