I've heard rumors that the stock fuel injectors are technically capable of supporting up to 3000 hp! I'll try to track the source of that. I don't think fuel delivery will ever be a limiting factor in this engine; isn't direct injection great!

The Borla doesn't remove the second cats, so it actually probably would pass a sniff test.

Try this one instead. It's a 335i with no mods other than a JB2H going against a stock 2008 Porsche C4S..
I do NOT condone street racing though. It's insane and dangerous. |

I think the guy in the porche Didn't know how to drive, those things come with 400hp, or the 335 had more mod's:iono:

A 335 JB2H will probably net 380BHP and 420ft-lbs, respectively. The weight difference is around 200 lbs give or take (less if the C4S is tiptronic). There's nothing surprising really in these videos. For a daily driver and given what parameters JB2 alters, I would only consider a JB2 (no H). I currently have a JB1 in the car. I'll probably upgrade to JB2 soon. I might try an H pill only if I had an upgraded intercooler and oil cooler.

I also can't imagine a cop looking under your car when he pulls you over, either. |

Actually, I think I remember reading somewhere (tried to look for it again) that the down pipe cats are indeed the primary catalytic converters. I'm curious to technically find out more. Though, the emissions part is the least of your worries. It is a federal offense to tamper with a stock exhaust, or use an aftermarket one that is not CARB certified! An acquaintance of mine is a police officer, he said it is the easiest way to punish a "ricer", is ask them if their exhaust is stock. After writing a ticket, they have some expensive hoops to jump threw even if the judge just orders the original exhaust be put back on! So just be mindful! |

Federal? Hardly. And I think it's quite legal in MD to put on an exhaust that is not CARB certified.

Only a federal LEO/DA can write you up for that though, not something a local cop can do.
