2012 128i SULEV and Vanos warranty status

I know my car is a Sulev and is covered under such a warranty. However, I can't locate anything specific about vanos in the SULEV coverage list that I have. Can anyone confirm?

It's US spec N51 BTW.

I believe the VANOS is the Intake and Exhaust Adjustment units in the list on page 34.

https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_3746

That's #4 and #5 on the real OEM page.

Also the Solenoid Valve is PN 11367585425

That's what I was hoping for.

This AM I started getting 0029d1 on cylinder 4 and 0029d0 on 5 and 0029cc "multiple cylinders misfiring". "Most" things I've read say to clean/replace the VANOS solenoids. Other mention other things. I'm hoping it's something that's covered.

First step is to swap coils on affected cylinders with unaffected ones. If it follows then replace coils.

Two at one time is unlikely but it's too easy to check.

Unfortunately, it's been -10 to -20c here lately. Won't be able to do anything for several weeks.

Pretty sure bad coils are covered by the SULEV warranty too, right?

If that's the case, just bring the car to the dealer and let them figure it out...in a heated garage

There is wisdom in this statement.

I had all of the plugs and coils replaced under the SULEV warranty to correct a misfire.

Yes, the Dealership replaced my coils under warranty as well, but not the plugs.
Print out your warranty, and bring it with you - but don't be too pushy! They should cover it

SULEV warranty to the rescue.

Dealer diagnosed and replaced 2 coils and plugs.

Interestingly, one of the coils replaced was unidentifiable by them. There was nothing on it to indicate brand or part #.

Double interesting, it was one of the coils that the place I originally purchased it from installed. (regular used car place)

Not surprising. A used car lot will put the absolute cheapest no name shit in your car.
