Seriously guys, you're a bunch of desperates. Do you really think that the first cars are done by apprentices? I've had apprentices over the years and I wouldn't let them loose on anything that wasn't already foolproofed.

I read that the WA dock workers, ( and I use the term "workers" loosely ), are planning a strike on the 16th May, with a series work to rule ( and we know what that means ) days and possibly weeks to follow. These strikes, starting in Fremantle, will work their way, counter clockwise around the country culminating in Port Kembla.

My car is also one of those on the Topaz Ace. It's due in Brisbane on 25 May. So near and yet so far!

Side note - as mine is not on any boat yet and being built this month...

They have sent out the gift last week so hopefully, we will get it soon for those who registered at M-Power.

That letter doesn't look right Gazz, looks like what a two year old would think a German writes like. I think that just proves it - your car is apprentice built (a junior one at that) - he's now emailing you with a sneaky plan to cover up his mistakes - clever really - he'll go far!

Okay you got me there. My 2 year old German isn't very good Ja. But it's true about the dock workers strike. Rooly and trooly.

Anybody got a hard copy 1M brochure yet? Got mine today.
Thanks Pete at Lyntons.
I've got a thoroughly anal collection of brochures from most of my cars and bikes over the years. At the time I was buying them I thought they were hot shit, but I look at the old brochures today and they seem so old and quaint.

I'm the same. Still have the original brochure for an MX-5 I bought 18 years ago!

Hey fellow ex MX5 owner. I had one too. Not sure which series, third I think. What a great car. Modified mine with exhaust, rerouted air intake and hiflo filter. I didn't want to spoil the basic roadster appeal with too many mods. Best gear change action ever. You could drive it on thought processes it was so positive in feel. It lacked power but that's okay. It is what it is, a fun car to drive. What killed it for me, and really it shouldn't matter, was the hairdresser/ girl car image. I saw one too many peroxided 50 years plus old girls driving them.

Yes, great car. Mine was a 1995 model. Handling and gear box were as good as any car I've driven, though I always wished it had a little more power. I slightly regret selling it, should have kept if for one of my kids to have one day.

Thank you gentlemen but lets not be too pre-emptive. The apprentices may have forgotten to put the wheels on my car or worse still, floating car carriers have been known to hit things and sink, Volvo lost a few in the North Sea a few years ago. In regard to the German apprentices, I would still consider them probably more capable than the workers in South Africa who put some BMW models together. I am so glad that our cars weren't loaded onto the boat in S.A......or are we being duped and they are really being loaded on board as we talk??
