128i to 130i GM transmission flash.

So I flashed my DME 128i to 130i from Bimmerlabs the other day and it went well but I kept looking for the 130i GM trans flash for our car but couldn't find it. We only have the stock tune at their website. Do we have the 130i gm trans tune for our car? If we have, what's the batch file for it?

3 series on the other hand has 330i GM trans ZB # 7587776 on Winkfp. Since our car has the same engine, can we use the same tune?

If you want the 130i tune follow this guy's step by step only he has the 330i tune but pretty similar to our 130i.

I dont think so? The only reason we have the 130 tune is to take advantage of the 3 stage IM, nothing of the trans is changed.

Hey. I was the guy to make that video. To get to the gm transmission file you have to switch your ecu on your profile in bimmerlabs from msv80 or whatever it is to gm1912. It should show as a file from an e83 x3 3.0si and flash as a tune, no need for rsa delete again

I did that but it fails to program it. at the end of programmimg, it gave me errors. at bimmerlabs project, under GM1912 there are two stock tunes available, both of them failed to program my car.

bimmertech pro cable. i also have icom but it's easier to use bimmertech. is this because I have a paddle shifters that's why it won't work? check bimmerlabs website for their GM1912 update. hopefully, they sort this out.

I'm 99.9% sure those transmission files are original BMW files. Bimmerlabs uses batch files to run BMW software. If you have a flashing problem it's probably at your end.

Did you check your connections with INPA prior to flashing? I'm several years into this game and I always check the module for errors as a general Com check before I flash.

Windows updates likes to screw with your setting and I've even had a problem with my Bimmergeaks cable. The plug inside the case came loose and I had intermittent connections. Easy fix but if I had tried to flash the DME is would have failed.

I checked INPA and they're both black

I've programmed my cic, combox, amp, and many other things into my car so it's impossible that these "stock tunes" for the trans of my car aren't programmable. i tried both batch file. so what gives? or maybe I'm doing something wrong or missed a step... i get errors at the end of the program.

note: i just programmed my DME earlier with the 130i tune with the batch file. no error.

Is the trans tune necessary? Does it actually improve shifts?

Yes, it makes the shifts a bit stiffer and faster specially in manual mode. DS becomes more usable and the shift points are in line with the added power of the 3 stage manifold

For the 125i Coupe does it still work? I’m Stuck with a detuned 3.0 engine with a 6spd auto box that wont downshift into 1st early enough (2500rpm max from 2nd) terrible on corners. Plus the shifting speed is terribly slow. 🤦*♂️

Well you have a detuned 3.0 at least that's a good thing that you don't have the b25! Go under the car and check if your transmission has a metal pan if it does then you can flash it. Gotta check on the bimmerlabs website if it's available for you but I'm sure it would help a lot, I love how much better my xi shifts.

Does anyone have news on the trans flash availability. Its been over 1 year since the last news on bimmerlabs website. I have tried emailing them to see if there has been progress / if I can help make progress in anyway, but no reply back.

Very interesting, I'm curious if this would work with the N51 since it already has a 3IM ? Stuck between this and Stage FP now

Just flash the ZB shown in the first post in WinKFP. Works on most cars pre-2009 from what I've seen.

Also would be interested in achieving a bit more aggressive transmission shifts with post 09 GM trans. Especially off throttle downshifts!
