Quarter mile

So I took my 135i to the track on Saturday and I had the worst time ever lol I would use launch control and it would launch then stability control or whatever would kick in and cut power so I was running like 14.8 but anytime I did it on the street it would launch perfect wtf is up with launch control not liking the strip? Next time should I just not use launch control and floor it from the stop instead? Anybody have any luck with theirs at the strip? Btw car is a 2013 dct berk street muffler , berk midpipes , bms intake and lighter rims if any of that matters

I just follow the instructions from the owner manual. Put it in sport mode, enable the dynamic traction control, hit the sport button, then press brake and hold the pedal down.

That's what I do and it works perfect on the street but when on the strip dsc or whatever cuts in and cuts power and gives it back slowly

The street will have much less traction than the strip if it's prepped right. So your car is probably jolting much more than normal on launch and your ESC goes "OH FUCK THINGS ARE HAPPENING" and kicks in. Turn off ESC and try it, CAREFULLY.

Turn off all the nannies (holding it down for 3-5 seconds) and EASE into the gas when launching. Get a feel for the car and slowly get more aggressive. Also, air down the tires. Start at 25 psi then lower it 1 psi until you feel like its gripping good. Don't go below 20 on street tires. I personally run 25 psi on all 4 corners even when I'm daily driving. On the strip its 20-25, depending on the time of the year and track condition.

The track is way different than the street. The track is made for your vehicle to grip and go, so its very, very sticky. If the track people are doing the correct track prep, that is.

I'm coming from manual trans experience and don't have much for the DCT. What tires/sizes do you have? I've ran 13.5-13.7 consistently (with 255, non runflat, rear tires on a stock 135i) and am by no means a track hog.

Also are you launching in second? Second gear is recommended for DCT takeoffs.

No LC and launch in 2nd gear without any of the controllers on, see what you can manage

1traitor also I think 4k RPM is where you want to be for the 2nd gear launch but do some research on that. Obviously high RPM launches can put immense stress on the car so practice caution and don't overdo it. Track time is all at your own risk.

Is the checkered flag coming up? I think you need to put the dct in sport mode, then manual. I ran a 4.6 0-60 and 13.3 quarter, stock 135.
