Is there a practical way way to add a temperature gauge to these cars?

Is there a practical way way to add a temperature gauge to these cars? After suffering two cooling related breakdowns in the last 9 montrhs or so. Both times the turtle mode or blown radiator occured a mere few seconds after the amber (then red) warning dash light happened. This coupled with the lack of a dipstick is total engine design lunacy.

Another option is Scan Gauge II and similar devices. However, they plug into the OBD port and need to be placed somewhere.

Thanks for the responses. As expensive as that digital gauge is, I will happily shell out that amount (I'm assuming that is US$, about AU$590) if it means avoiding another failure which no doubt would cost that much to fix anyway. N54 life lol
