What tire pressures do you use?
I'm curious what tire pressures (for the OEM run flat tires) people use in the following situations:
- everyday driving - on the track - autocrossing - drag strip I don't know much about it but I'm going to a performance driving school soon and I'm wondering what tire pressures I should use. I'm guessing I should inflate them more than I would for everyday driving?

I've been using 38 PSI cold on the track. I seem to get better wear than others who were running less pressure. My front tires lasted 12 track days - they wore out on the outside shoulder, and I swapped them left to right after 6 or 7 track days to even the wear out. Right now the car is in the shop getting camber plates for more negative camber, hopefully that will make the new set of fronts last longer.
The rears are still in great shape. I leave the pressure the same on the street only because I'm too lazy to bleed them and then pump them up again a few weeks later. It does make the ride a bit harsher, and if I weren't regularly going to the track I'd probably use the stock pressures on the street. |
