Diy black line taillights?

I have the pre lci taillights and I’m a huge fan of the black line ones, but I can’t afford the hectic price for the black line, do they look good if I just smoke them out? How can I make them look like black line? Or is it a lost cause.

I'm also interested in this. Can you open up the housing and darken the lines or something?

Blacklines are blackened housings. It won't look good if you just smoke the lenses IMO, and dangerous.
