E82/88 Vertical doors

I was looking through a thread from 2009 discussing the possibility of vertical (LSD, "Lambo style doors") on the E82 and E88, and I am interested in doing this. However, I'm having trouble finding a kit I am satisfied with. This seems to be the best option, however it looks like there is a *Ton* of chassis/electrical modification that needs to be done, which I'm not to keen on doing since it's irreversible. It involves cutting the fender, the door hinges, turn signal, and wiring harness etc. Does anyone know of a kit that is less intrusive? Here is a link to the instructions for this kit.
Thanks!

Thanks for the input! Why do you think it's a bad idea?

Factory doors are strong and close beautifully. Endless nightmares possible if you change it.

I'd never mod with an integral safety item like doors.

Wow for real.

I can't believe someone would even consider lambo doors on his car, anno 2025(!) Actually I thought someone had kicked up some 2010 topic.

Hey your car, do it man.

as a 47 year old - it was one of the worst, cringe mods when they came out in the late '90's. it was always very "cheap" looking. Because of the axis of the hinge, the door is actually more in your way for ingress and egress. Also the doors on the cars that come with them are designed to latch on the pull shut where these came down then pulled in. Also those cars doors are much lighter. These doors are much heavier so the struts would would wear quickly - they aren't designed for this motion.
