Splitter gap misalignment/gap

Hey guys so I was trying to fit this eBay splitter on my 128i n52 e82 and it seems the cut out do not light up exactly now I am left with a pretty gross gap.

I have thought of a number of different workarounds short of stripping the whole thing off.

Any suggestions welcome please and sorry for the horrid you’re going to see
