Does anyone know how to locate a 128i M Performance Exhaust???

I really don't understand BMW's parts distribution. Last month, all the big online vendors were advertising the M Performance exhaust for sale. That may have been a lie and they really had none in stock, but they were advertising them. Fast forward a month and they've entirely disappeared from the face of the Earth. There are supposedly none in any US BMW warehouses and they can't be ordered from Germany because they are discontinued. I really find it hard to believe that not a single dealer has one in stock. Does BMW forbid them from selling a part that's been discontinued? I don't get it. I've bought new old stock parts that have been discontinued for 20 years.

*rant over*
Does anyone know how to find one now that it's officially discontinued? Unfortunately the Euro-spec version still has the butterfly valve which I don't want.

Looks like that PE is now discontinued. I would call or go to your local BMW dealer and ask them to find another dealer with the PE instock. Typically any dealer can search any other dealer's parts inventory. I would also try some larger dealers around the country... maybe one still has some NOS(New Old Stock) still in their parts dept.

128i PE... p/n 18100443577

Both Realoem and the official BMW accessories webpage are not saying 18102208804 is discontinued, but dealers are. I'm guessing this was discontinued within the last few days and BMW has not updated their website.

Yep, Thunderguts you are correct! I don't know how I missed that.
#577 and #747 are parts no longer made and superceeded by p/n 18102208804.

Look around for 18102208804 on the interwebs. But it also looks like #804 is no longer offered by BMW. ?

I found it for sale at Leebmann24.de (over here in Germany) for 585,19 €, that is about ~$685 USd. They don't have it in stock but that just means they can order one from BMW AG.

https://www.leebmann24.de/schalldaem...102208804.html

and for 665 € euros here...

Found one in the states for $614...

For anyone else reading this, don't bother with them. I already tried and they couldn't get me one.

My German is very rusty. I emailed Baum. I hope they understood me. LOL!

I've found that often the online shops don't actually have inventory of the things they offer for sale, they take orders and then relay them somewhere else to be drop-shipped to you. And when that somewhere else (the actual supplier with inventory) changes - part number discontinued, inventory goes to zero (and that fact also gets relayed, which isn't 100% of the time), then you'll find that all the online shops drop it as well.

If a bunch of online shops were showing it for a discount, then again it could be because their supplier (the actual place with inventory) is what originally triggered it - they dropped their price, the online shops did as well.

Poor explanation, but hopefully made some sense.

I find the whole part situation annoying. I know what you mean about drop shipping. For instance, Turner still lists the M Performance Intake, but has a 3 week wait on it. I know these are still available in Germany because I got the same response from a dealer--three week wait. I would swear that they were still advertising the PE last month with no wait, however.

have you guys checked out BMW of Brooklyn?

also what's the big hoopla for this exhaust aside from it being an official M Performance part?

I ended up fitting the 135 exhaust to the 128. It's not super aggressive, but it's very pleasant and has no drone at highway speeds.

It is not a direct fit. You need to cut off part of the pipe and find a way to connect it to the smaller diameter pipe on the 128. It's not that hard though.
