2009 135i Questions: Std equip level improved/leather...

Although I haven't received my car yet due to the CARB delay, I've been poring over the brochure and owners manual for the 2009 model, and it looks like there are a couple of features that used to be options on the 2008 model that have now been made standard.

That would be 1. Headlight washers (I understood these to be available before only if you select the Winter package option), and 2. An iPod connector.

Perhaps someone knowledgeable on the forum could confirm if the above is correct?

Also, I have a question about the leather in the coupe's = Is it the same leather as used in the verts, with the "cooling" treatment?

Not quite true about both being standard. The washers were, but the iPod/USB interface was an option in 2008.

who said anything about USB? he said "ipod connection" not the 6FL option. there's a difference.

OK, so I guess he means the "Aux" connection? Once someone specifies iPod rather than any auxillary input I assume they are talking about the integrated iPod controls as well as the physical interface. In either case, I didn't know the aux input was standard, but that's nice to know, it's something I thing every manufacturer should be including as a standard by now.

I was just this morning wishing I'd had that as an option. As it was, I jammed my hands under my legs at stop lights to take advantage of the seat warmers.

The headlight washers... wish these were an option. Anyone ever waxed the car and accidentally pulled the lever too far intending to wash the screen but activated the headlight washers and covered the nicely clean hood. I think the jets are too powerful and spray over the headlights at times.

esscolab, if you turn your lights to manual, they won't wash. But then your eyes don't shift either. At least that's how I "see" it...

Advice to ppl washing...

If you like to open hood/bonnet while cleaning, do not flip up your blades and leave them there. Many 1ers have cracked their windshield glass. Do a search if you want to read the bad news.

Now also add to put your lights to manual so you don't accidently spray your new wax job. (good to know)

esscolab, if I am wrong, please PM me, and I will fix my comment as well. I am lazy and I am not checking the manual, I just noticed it.

I actually have not opened the manual since I got the car. I only read the pdf before I got the car. Every time I pick it up, I just want to drive.

I don't think I have opened the manual since getting the car. I get more useful stuff from people on here. Plus I don't know where the hell the manual is!

The best part is having the moonroof open and washing the headlights and spraying everyone inside the car.
