military folks, where are you putting your decals
so I just got stickers for my car, where the heck is a good spot that wont block visibility, wont mess with the rain sensor, and wont mess with the wiper blades?
I'm at a loss, best place I can find is the lower drivers side corner, but it will affect visibility

I think he means the sticker to get onto base, I put mine in my lower drivers side, just to the left of the vin. That is still on the dark glass that you can't see out of so it doesn't mess with vis.

it's a sticker to get on base, otherwise you have to have your car inspected every day

I wouldn't say that. I was waved through no prob. and I even had my surfboard going down the middle of the car at the time. I have to say it was pretty nice on base, until I kept going and noticed a sign that said caution tank crossing. Thats when I decided to make a u-turn and head off base.

I was told it had to be top and center. Wipers to go over it but no prob yet with 8K miles. out of sight and at least symmetrical with the lower center registration sticker.

I was told where I put it was fine, that is where 90% of the cars have it down here. I highly recomend putting it bottom left.

Maybe the terms of base are getting mixed up. Anyways it was Camp Pendleton. First thing as I got in I drove past the military shopping center, then housing, and then I continued on this long road. It came to a bend, where I had the option to go straight to another gate, or keep following the road. Well I kept going along the road and it just kept going on, and you could visually see nothing ahead regarding buildings and then I came across a sigh that said caution tank crossing. That is where I turned around, headed back past the housing and shopping center, back through the first post where they either check your ID, and went back to civilization.

I hope they go away with those stickers and start using the ID card scanners. Atleast they do here. Military can be picked out too easily with those stickers.

not a problem at all. If you look closely you'll see the cutout for the rain sensor. I placed mine flush to the top seam of the windshield, doesn't cover the sensor at all. my only other choice was left front bumper.

I put mine in a plastic sandwich bag and put it on the dash as I approach the gate and then put it back in the armrest of the car when I leave post.

It use to be a DOD reg to have it in the upper middle of the windshield but they found it to be a distraction to the driver and now it just has to be visible to the guard or MP. I work at a DOD base in MI and i have mine in the black by the VIN like ARES45. That is the same place i had it when I was in the military as well. You shouldn't have any problems.
You can barely see the sticker in the pic in my signature

Lower left as Ares45 suggested. No problems with any base in the DC metro area. Center top is preferred; but it is under the sweep of the wipers.

As a former Air Force SP I believe I can speak to this, and the short answer is it all depends. Not only does it vary by branch of service but also by installation. There are several installations that no longer require a DD Form 2200 (window sticker). As was mentioned previously, from an OPSEC perspective, placing the sticker on a flash card and making it visible during entry/exit would be best. Some installtions require that the sticker be permanently affixed. At the end of the day it is the decision of the installation commander. Check with the SP/MP unit for clarification. Sorry for rambling on.

I'm going to put them in the lower corner and if they dont like it they can inspect the car
