8" vs. 6.5" underseat woofers

Do the 8" speakers (hi-fi/HK) use the same enclosure as the 6.5" (base/stereo)? If one were to upgrade to an 8" solution, would new enclosures be required?

Just get the 8" boxes. Ebay, e90 or e8x will work, same box.

The adapter on the 6.5 is epoxied onto the box. It's a bear to remove. I gave a try at soaking it in acetone with no luck. I found a pair of 8" boxes locally for $50/pair. Worth it to me to save a headache.
