Basic 128i Question
Apologies if this has been covered, but I didn't find anything about it after a quick search. I am interested in a basic no-option Alpine White 128i coupe with 6MT. I have seen a couple people on here who look like that is what they have. My question is have you ordered the car that way or just taken one sent to the dealer? Any insight on what kind of a deal you got would be much appreciated.

You will probably have to order it. Most dealers order their cars for the lot to be automatics (they sell more of those), plus most of the time, a dealer is going to have a few options put on their lot cars.

You will likely have to order it. I would also recommend at least looking into the sports package. The sports seats are very good and you also get a better steering wheel, "summer" tires, sport-tuned suspension, and more aggressive wheels (though the staggered wheels can be a bit annoying if you want to rotate tires).
Most people on here will tell you it is worth the additional $1300.

When you order the 128i make sure the dealer has a production slot to give you and get a production number ASAP.
Some people have had to wait a few extra weeks just to enter production. |

I'm an impulse buyer. I bought the 128 vert manual sport sound on the spot. I have to say though, 6MT are hard to come by... so they might not have what you want.

My bad. Regardless, the steering wheel on the 128i is nice, just a small step below the 135i sport M steering wheel.

i ordered just what you're interested in; only options are sp and heated seats; aw, black 'ette, high gloss black trim, manual seats etc.
i knew i had to order it beacause at least my dealer specs his inventory much higher. re the deal; the 128 is my 3rd bmw and 4th car from them in 5 years so i did very well; some do but i prefer not to divulge specifics; guess you could say i like to give the dealers among us a fair chance but i will say that i was well below msrp but still gave them an acceptable profit. |

If I was going for a 128i, I would add the sport package and the aerodynamic kit. I personally hate the stock 128i front spoiler, and the aerodynamic kit replaces it, along with different side skirts, and a new rear spoiler.
P.S. Xenon modules are prob worth it too...
