I'm quite content with manual seats. I'm the only driver so what's the sense? It's not like I'll be moving it every other day. I did go with the sports package just for the seats....now THAT's worth it!

You know after driving the car it sort of cemented my feelings that personally I shouldn't try to shoehorn it into something it aint. This is little buzzbomb is a performance sports car, first, second and thirdmost and as such there's no shame in ordering a stripper or a loaded number. It's all good. Personally if I wanted to be pampered I would have bought a 3 series. This one feels just fine with manual knobs to mess with. And it's not like it hasn't been written several times, the sport package seats manual positions are identical to the power with the added benefit of being faster if you need to get someone in the backseat.

I paid the extra $1,000 for the power seats because my current BMW came with them. However, I did not get the sports package and in retrospect, I wish I had gotten the sports package with the manual seats at about the same cost total. Oh, well, we live and we learn!

if you're ordering and waiting so long to get your car, i think it should be exactly the way you want it - it shouldn't be a learning experience. I would change my order, cancel my order, or put in a new order.

I hear those new ford taurus's have power seats and they don't cost 40 grand...
In all honesty these are the best manual seats I've ever seen, and they do have power adjustable side bolsters so it's not all manual. it's got front to back, up and down, seat back forward and back, front seat tilt up and down, thigh extender, an adjustable head rest and the adjustable side bolsters, so what if it's not power when you can customize your seating position in so many ways... I'd take them over any other manufacturer's power seats that you can find in a $40,000 car, but that's just my opinion. (As long as you got the sport package)

Manual seats is only bad if you have more than one driver.
EG. I have power seats in her 135 heh, but not in my128 vert If you have the sport side bolster, that's great too. The only other good thing about powered seats is two driving positions. In the 5, there are 3 spots, so I keep 2... 1 for attentive upright driving, and the other for laid back cruising. You won't miss the powered too much.

95% (is the ride) + 5% (fluff, it's fluff nice!) = 100% amazing ride.
don't let the manual seats mess your ride! I have had the car for 3 weeks and I still wake up wanting to go for a drive!!! It's that cool! I do have lots of fluff and like it, but I don't let it mess my ride! In a few years when the fluff isn't working, it's going to be the people without the fluff who are laughing! Nothing like driving in the car you love with the people you love! Nothing! EspressoBoy |
