FK 1 Recommendation
I spoke with Terry at FK1 - what a guy!
I have a new 330 and this is what he is recommending ( I am going to install X-pel) Our recommendation would be the following in their respective order 1. 1119/883 Paint Decontamination 2. Protection 2180 Ultra Seal 3. 1000P / 2685 Paste Wax 4. Regular Wash with 118 SC 5. Quick Detail Paint Glass Chrome with 425 and or FX-100 6. Dress Tires Exterior Trim and engine compartment with 108 A.S. 7. Protect Interior Vinyl, Leather and Plastic with 108 A.S. 8. Clean Interior carpets, leather, vinyl with 121 Ultimate Cleaner 9. Clean engine, tires, and wheels with 121 Ultimate Cleaner. If you experience imperfections with the paint over time 215 is an excellent product Avoid car washes (self or full surface) most use inexpensive and harsh detergents. Do not use terry toweling as they will cause surface scratches. Only use clean microfiber toweling Avoid any products that are silicone based. They give evaporative by nature and can be harmful to the surfaces they are applied. Do not use dish detergents on a vehicle regardless who is telling you to. They are designed to cut the grease that cakes on your pots and pans and are way too harsh and inappropriate for a vehicles paint system. 1119 would be the proper cleaner prior to installing your chip guard film to ensure proper adhesion. If you use the 1119/883 System install the film after step 3 and prior to step 4. I hope this helps all e90'ers. |

fk1 make some awesome products and their sealant are far superior to zaino as they not only offer clear reflections, but offer it with a cup of depth. makes for great 3d shine all throughout the car...

All these responders have so few posts. Strange that they would pick this one to respond to.

yea dude. i barely post on e90post.com simply because im not that knowledgeable about my 330i. i do on the other hand post a lot on the detailing section here simply because i feel i have a great amount of knowledge to share when it comes to detailing. go to detailcity.com and i have almost 2000 post. over in DC offtopic or anything other than detialing is not added to your post count.
