BMW Performance CF Interior Trim

Hey peeps

Just wondering if any of you guys have purchased the CF interior trim from someone other than the local BMW dealership?

I am currently trying my best to chase down a decently priced set as BMW have quoted me somewhere around the 2k mark... I would love to purchase from the US with the current exchange rate, but they have LHD cars

Tried some ppl from the UK, but it seems after shipping the price will be on par with what the local dealership is offering. Do I have to bite the bullet and shell out the full price for the product? Please tell me there is anther cheaper option out there!

Cheers

Utter bullshit. I also got a few BMW Performance CF interior from Toby at BM Miniparts and it is about 25% of what the dealers quoted me.

Not yet.
I came across their ad in BMW Magazine.

Well what a drama... I ended up ordering the BMW performance interior parts from Bmminiparts and finally got down to the Perth dealer today to fit them along with my first service.

I was advised the ashtray didnt fit and I had two left hand door trims?!! This was after they put on half the trim... So if I want to return my interior trim back to stock I would be charged again for the labor @ $130/hr... So now im stuck with a car with 2 trims, and will have to order the parts that don't fit from them which may take up to 4 weeks FML!!!

Yes I know its a BMW, but jeez, I really didn't think a service would cost so much with such results.

Maybe there's someone who'll buy your (now) spare trim pieces off you for a small discount if they're wanting the same thing? They can just order the other half themselves.

Either that or you order double of what you ordered the first time and try to sell the second kit whole to someone in Australia.

Sorry to hear your woes. Try talking to Toby at BM Mini Parts, I found him very reasonable and accommodating.

I also involved Toby in confirming I had the correct parts on order when I ordered the complete BMW Performance CF interior for my 135. There are quite a few variations with iDrive and non-iDrive, LHD vs RHD, etc.

If you DID in fact order all the correct parts (presumably that's why the ashtray doesn't fit) then Toby has to sort you out. If the part is the correct number but is damaged or defective then again you need to discuss.

Lastly it might be the dealer that is not installing the parts properly.

My advice would be to install all the CF interior trim that fits correctly and simply order the missing trim items, then have them installed when they arrive. If your BMW dealer has the parts on hand you might just pay the ridiculous markup just to get the car finished, or just put up with a two-tone trim until the CF bits arrive rom the UK.

If you end up with any CF trim pieces left over (like a LH door handle) then just advertise them for sale here and get some of your money back.

Often the freight cost to return an item to the US or UK is more expensive than just ordering the correct part.

Yeah I'm sure I will sort out the problem with Toby, he is a great guy and my purchase experience to date have been great. Well I was told today the ashtray lid connector wasn't included or something, the lid looks to be the perfect size and all...

The upside of the day, got to go for a spin in an M3 while waiting for an evaluation on my car .
