BMW Tunes?
Does anyone know if BMW will ever release their own tunes? I did a couple searches and remember there being a rumor of this because of the distance they were putting between themselves and Dinan. Seems like it would be a lucrative market, tunes with a BMW warranty..

I did read it on one of the threads here. I highly doubt BMW will release a tune. BMW will likely release a performance model of the 135i, in which case it would be under BMW's warranty. BMW would get legal issues if their tune is under warrantly while 3rd party tunes void their warranty. BMW could release a tune and extend the warranty, but I think that would be unlikely.

My sources still say yes to a BMW tune. Maybe BMW wants to fix the HF Pump problems first.

Thats great that the next generation will be using upgraded engine software, but it makes me wonder if the engine parts will need to be upgraded too. I know the n54 has improved engine components over the n52 but would they have to take it a step further?

Thanks for chiming in Mad Dragon... I wonder why it shows a new 3 series in the picture (at right).
Also, have you heard anything as far as a BMW Performance Tune coming down the pipeline? I think they'd be stupid not to do it. Obviously there is money to be had in that market and it could help them ensure that less folks are using aftermarket/non-approved software.

All engine tuning kits for right now are only for the 2003-2005 (or 06 ci/cic) 330i on the E46 chassis (not in conjunction with the ZHP package).
Let's just hope!
