Exactly. He's stating flywheel power, or his "tuner" told him those power numbers and he's ( @Kizzu) confused.

I apologize for the mistake of saying that. I rephrase. my car is doing 215ish at the wheels. I still get confused between crank and wheel power

The Injen's larger pipe diameter probably does contribute to some low end power, and when cool, more power overall. However, when I tested it, as the car got hotter, it lost more and more power. A heat shield is a must with that intake.

It's very true indeed! But apart from the fact that it needs a PROPER heatshield, I think that something to insulate the pipe itself is needed or else a plastic tubing don't know which is best

Saw it already tbh and it's amazing ! Good job for that. But sad news is that I don't really afford a 1.3k headers. So my alternative route is to decat my stock headers and IF it does not get too loud remove muffler aswell. Regarding air intakes, what system are you using if it does not bother you sharing ?

does it take the computer 400KM to adapt to anything? lots of people on the e90 forum are convinced that all it takes it 3 WOT pulls in order to adjust timing to compensate for a modified flow in the exhaust system. I am 100% convinced this is not true because when i deleted my secondary cats, My exhaust note sounded much different 400KM into the process vs when i first had them removed. what do you think?

I am still happy I went with my SW flash tune. Almost 90K kms of no troubles or engine check light(or shadow codes). I couldn't be happier. I think it does take 400 kms for the "tune" to adapt to the engine/fuel/altitude/etc. Dackel

what do you think about an ECU tune? how does it stack up in terms of long-term reliability? im looking to tune my ECU soon, but i had a friend advise against it because they are messing with the factory fuel/ignition timing and then i've had another friend tell me also not to do it in fear of my automatic 8 speed shitting itself. what do you think? should i do it? I want to do it because I have a 3 stage manifold from the factory and my 3 stage (45000rpm+) is not fully optimized, therefore why I have the 330i torque, but not the 255hp high end from the third stage of the manifold. what do you think? thanks! |
