Pretty sure that means the owner or employee has to pay out of pocket, but you'll have to sue them.

It's all on the owner.

Yep. Huge pain in the ass. My car is getting fixed as we speak, but people should not be allowed to exclude individuals who drive their vehicles. It's the same as allowing uninsured drivers.

I'm thankful that I can still drive it. While I do care how it looks, as long as it drives fine, I'm okay with it for a little while. It was kinda funny, my excitement about my airbag light being fixed outweighed being hit again. I'm really thankful that I didn't need a tow, and that there's no tell-tale mechanical damage. I think I did throw a wheel weight though, because there's a vibration at speed that wasn't there before.

PS: Surprise tank-slappers are really scary going 55, but also kind of fun...
Dang man I'm sorry to hear all this. Definitely keep a log of everything you notice to be wrong with the car so when the insurance companies come back with a check and quote you can easily point out anything they missed. A wheel weight is a simple thing but no reason you should pay $25 out of your own pocket for a re-balance.

Anyway hopefully you can get the car all sorted before the gokart trip! Either way you should come on up to my place the day before. I'll be doing some detailing/car stuff with a friend and we can check out your paint. I have a buffer and slew of detailing equipment, maybe we can clear it up a bit.

I'm going to be a total baby about my baby. If paint doesn't match PERFECTLY, I'll complain. If panels don't line-up, I'll complain. If it doesn't drive just right ('cause I finally got it to), you get the idea...

I don't see this shop screwing anything up, though. They managed to match a very metallic grey paint on my mom's truck after she was rear-ended (a theme in our house now), they had to replace the entire frame of the truck, including the bed, some suspension bits, and had to paint all of it. The truck drives factory fresh, and actually has less rattles than it did from the factory (LOL, Ford).

And that's my new worry...just repainting a bumper would take MAYBE 2-3 days, but doing unibody work will take much longer...ugh.

I doubt he is allowed to exclude them from insurance. The employee isn't allowed to drive the vehicle but they did.

Jesus... good luck, metallic can be so hard to match, especially light colors. One of the reasons I love jet black. Hate it for a bunch of other reasons lol. Went over to the body shop today, ill be back in my car tomorrow if all goes well.

It's bullshit. You're allowed to exclude kids and the like too. It seems to be totally legal in this state. But it doesn't excuse the owner of the vehicle from liability.

It's due to employee driving up the insurance rate, or maybe bumping the company into a different rate.
I've been excluded before due to my driving record.

But there are also medical reasons one could be excluded, severe diabetes, seizures, vision.
Just be happy in that someone is trying to look out. Unfortunate that it didn't work out this time.

What didn't work out this time? Getting away with someone driving a functionally uninsured vehicle? Not sure I follow you. I insure my wife on my car even though she doesn't drive AT ALL. But she could conceivably get a wild hair and take it out one day. It's protection of my property and others.

Why is it bullshit? Excluding an employee is perfectly reasonable, you just can't allow them to drive. It would could carry the consequence of termination. And it DOESN'T excuse the owner from liability when it's a business.

It's an avoidable source of uninsured drivers. That's all. Nice neat little loophole that's not legal in every state because it's been deemed unacceptable. Luckily my insurance is largely covering me, but I'll still have to sue to recover some funds. It takes time, and didn't even have to happen in the first place if PEOPLE DIDN'T SUCK.

The influence of Sweet Tea, yes.

They make acceptable winter rims, I like them because they're a simple design, and were already a bit beat-up from the car's PO.

Also, I think I've been

EDIT: I also just got back from dropping the car off at the shop. Great people, fantastic first impressions. They had a wrapped C7 Z06 out front (a tasteful color, too)...

A picture from dropping the car off yesterday evening. I missed it the second I handed the keys over...

And yes, they wrote on my car with marker.

EDIT: Wow, my side-markers look like garbage...

I don't see why you should have to pay for insurance to cover someone you don't want to drive. If they do end up driving that should carry additional consequences for the company and the employer can terminate the employee as well.

Because termination is after the accident. Employees that cause insurance issues are rarely reliable and can be counted on not to drive uninsured. For the same reason you can't exclude a driver aged kid from your auto policies if they live at home.
