Reviews on plastis dip
So I wanna try using plastis dip in the next week or two on my kidney grills but just wondering if those who have done it are happy with the outcome or regret it?.... I'm also planning to wrap my hood matte black during that week seeing how my car is white it'll look like a storm trooper =]

Man, I never heard of Plastidip until a week or two ago, and now I see it a million threads on it. I'm pretty new to a Ford Focus forum and it's HUGE over there. Seems to be just trickling over to the BMW community. Not really into it, personally.

Had mine on for years. Holds up great. Make sure you put enough coats on. Nice thing is you can revert back at any time Plus its much easier than spray painting etc. and only needs a good clean to prep.

As far as steps, tape and mask off whatever design you want. Prepare for a bit of overspray although you can get the over spray off with a quick detailer and a microfiber towel really easily. Do 4-6 coats, wait about 5-7 minutes between coats. Remember to build up the coats lightly, don't get overzealous or else you could get drips and an uneven finish. It will start looking even after the 3-4 coats. The hardest part is removing the tape where you want the sharp lines to be, because the plastidip not only adheres to the paint but the masking tape also. So you have to pull the tape and edges off slowly to make sure you don't pull the plastidip up with the rest of it. I took a blade by itself (not in a handle) and lined it up along the tape as I pulled the tape up to cut the plastidip on the line that I wanted it on. The blade is resting on the plastidip so it wont scratch your paint as long as your careful. You dont need to use a whole lot of pressure.* Be careful to not slip and scratch your paint though.

not hard at all it literally rolls right off, similar to how double stick tape comes off but wayyyyyyyyyy 10000x easier and leaves no residue.

Just a tip for anyone thinking of doing this to their car. Make sure your car is clean and has a couple coats of wax on it. My car is waxed regularly and it came off really easy on my car when you want it to.
We did it to my friends 135 who has never waxed it and it still comes off its just a pain in the ass!
