Are floor mats not standard?

Are floor mats standard on the 1? I ask because I bought some replacement OEM mats and they came with circular things that screw into the carpet. The mat then grips these circles with velcro-like material to hold them in place. On my car there were just two little circle plugs in the carpet where the larger carpet mounts went. I removed those and screwed the carpet mounting discs in their place. Just seems like if the mats are standard the mounting discs would have already been there instead of the little plastic placeholders for them.

I had to buy and install my mats. I don't think they are std but some dealers may throw them in.

Unless this is just the velcro, mats came with my car.

Mats came with my car, but they're nothing to write home about: they're not very plush at all... About the same (barely) as that high traffic carpet you see in office buildings.

Got my car from newport beach bmw and they didn't have the mats in stock but shipped them to my home a few days later. So I dunno I've bought many cars new/cpo and never had mats not included.

My military sales 1er came with floor matts for free. They're held in place with the velcro circles as you stated. Strange thing is, my driver side matt is plain like the rest of the matts.

No "BMW" logo on them..

+1

I have the black leatherette interior and my floor mats are all just plain black. No BMW logos like I've seen in other posts. I put them in the trunk and will use them in the winter.

I ordered these OEM black M floor mats with the orange stitching. They are exactly the same size/shape as the mats that came with my IS and they look great.

* The image is from ECS, but I purchased my mats at Bavarian Autosport. They were here in less than a week.

I believe they are standard on 2013's 1-series. They came with my car.

Same with mine thru military sales. But then again, I also got the leather option for free as well.

I think the question is, if they are not standard, then in what situation would you not want floor mats? Or is it just another way for dealers to nickel and dime people?

Yeah, I was just wondering in what situation the car wouldn't already have the velcro discs attached to the floor, but I guess if some of them don't come with floor mats that's why. Apparently mine never had OEM floor mats before until I just added them.

When I bought my 2012 last year the dealer said I drove such a hard bargain (yeah right) that while they normally throw in mats for me they weren't going to.

I said whatever and asked here if they were standard or not. Someone sent me the link to a pdf from the BMWNA website that said they were standard equipment even on my 1 convertible.

Upon delivery I was going to make a stink about it but sure enough when the car arrived it had mats in it and the salesperson said they must be standard because they came with the car.

That was 2012 not sure what the deal is for 2013. As noted they aren't great mats but they work.

most cars i have bought new have had floor mats, but if you look at the sticker they are an extra line item. this includes Hyundai, Subaru, Honda, and BMW. (in my experience)

I would imagine it is one of those dealer installed options that 95% of all cars come with them.

I thought I had seen them as an option to buy for like $50 on the BMW website when I was building a 1er while bored at work...

I never mentioned mats to my dealer, when ordering both of my 1ers. They both came with mats. The '09 had the BMW logo, the '13 did not.

Carpet mats are standard. I always insist that dealer throw in the rubber mats as well.

I test drove my car with rubber mats- went in and signed the paper work. They got the car ready for me and when I came out they took the mats out. I asked them to put them back in and they pretended they didnt know what I was talking about...sneaky BMW

My '13 that was factory ordered came with mats. They're the thin, cheap kind without a logo. I didn't ask for them.

Granted I didn't purchase mine new, I got floor mats for free. All they say is BMW, pretty basic though. Better than none.

When I bought my 2012 the sales guy said that they were allowed to gift one thing to people that buy a new car if they really like them. He then presented me with my mats that do, in fact, have the BMW logo on the drivers side.

I looked into it when I got home and found out that floor mats are standard equipment on the 2012's. Anything to make them look better and get those 10's on the survey...
