BMW Airbag CAL

Wonder what we will really see from this. My 135 is part of it as is my X5d. Hoping this helps in getting a special deal on a new X5.

I just got my notice in the mail yesterday. I'm still waiting for my new airbag as well. Maybe this will help with getting replacements available.

So if I read it correctly, we can only file a claim for out of pocket expenses after we actually get our airbags replaced? Is that going to be like $2 for gas?? Then if there's any residual money left in the fund after the lawyers take their cut and the 'outreach program', etc, it will be split amongst the claimants up to $250?

I'm still waiting for my airbag for my 2012 in Florida.

Interesting. My letter leads me to believe I would get a maximum of $500 settlement. I don't quite understand what happens if I opt out of the CAL. Really, all I want is the airbag unit to function as intended, safely. Mine is a driver's side issue, just what I want (ugh).

I got a postcard in the mail yesterday myself. Still waiting on a new airbag, which given my location is somewhat of a surprise. No legal background here, but I would imagine that failing to exclude myself from the class (i.e., remaining a Class Member) would mean I would not be able to file a separate claim on my behalf later? The settlement agreement is 343 pages long and I'm not sure I have the patience for that... but there is some good information at the FAQ https://autoairbagsettlement.com/en/BMW/FAQ.
