low135's sunflower yellow E88

I thought I'd start a new thread for the vinyl wrap Pristine Auto Wrap in Springfield, PA did on my E88. I brought the car to him on monday and picked it up friday. We've still gotta fix/adjust a couple things after the car has been out in heat but it's all easy stuff. Very very happy with the color. Anyway, here's the goods!

Really makes all the body lines jump out, especially the front and rear bumpers. Easy to see just how much of a drop the H&R springs brought to the party too.

I like it!

Gonna call it Arrest Me Yellow.

That's a good one!

Better keep it under the maximum, OP.

They won't have to look hard to find you.

You should change your name to "low&slow135." lol

It looks amazing.

Fun cars deserve fun colors. Just look at the green on the AMG GT R!

What's next? I'm interested to see how far the cosmetics are going to go...

Thanks! I'm loving the color every day I see it. What's next, for now is going to be some kind of lip up front, side skirt extensions, and new rear diffuser. Headlights are still being figured out. I wanted to get some cool roundels made up as well.

After I move things are gonna get a bit more wild. Bags and clinched "widebody" are on the list and will require new wheels. The kit is going to require some custom pieces for front and rear bumper since it was designed for regular m sport bumpers. Not sure if a new color will happen with the widebody or not. Gonna be hard to top this color for me

How do you keep that vinyl wrap from getting dinged or chipped? I'd want to wrap my wrap in the thick mil clear wrap to keep it from getting damaged...

You can certainly clear bra over the wrap, some do. I plan on ceramic coating this which will help a ton

I didn't think I'd like it much, but now that it's done, I really do. Only other yellow that's come close for me was on the Lotus Elise.
Mostly I'm jealous of your wheels. Love those.
Is it time yet for blacklines?

My wife thought you did something to the headlights to make it look like pupils. I guess she hasn't looked very hard at mine before...

Possibly the world's Most Fun Taxi!

Thanks! and I'm not sure about blacklines. I like the darker look but don't like the led pattern compared to the pre lci. not sure if I can make them darker in a clean way but I might try

Looks great man! Seeing the issues with the front bumper makes me feel a bit better about the job I did haha. I'd love to hear from you and your installer once you get those issues fixed, as to how he'd recommend doing it. I'm planning on redoing the front bumper but this time off the car.

PS - my wife saw the pics, she loves sunflowers and 1ers, perfect combo!

Having had a wrapped car three times know I know the pains that come with it. You're going to have some overhang and some lifting on hard corners once the car gets out in heat. The bumper in one piece was a nice thought but for the sake of reliability we're going to section off the corners and the inside of the center "mouth" I'll call it. I think we're tackling that tonight. We've also got some spots near the rear vents that are going to get reworked. I expected some of this stuff. Doing it off the car can be tough just due to it flexing so much. We did that on my Jetta once and it was.... difficult.

And thank you! I'm really happy with the color choice

You say "difficult", just one word, but for some reason I'm feeling several paragraphs and enough cussing to make a Marine blush.... lolz

Now that you've got a few days on it how are you liking the exhaust? I kinda wonder if it's drone central from ~1,800 up through ~2,300 RPM? I bet it just w a i l s when you're gettin' on it tho!! That's gotta be impressive!

Yeah doing the rear bumper off the car was a colorful mix of motherfuckers and sons of bitches

The exhaust is very droney in that range unfortunately. I'm hoping the downpipes help with that? Unsure. I may need to tweak some things with the resonators and swap them out for something else. It sounds amazing in higher rpm so I tend to stick to that a little more. Smiles per gallon, right? The rev matched downshifts with XHP stage 3 is heavenly. Lots of burbling on decel as well

Yeah that's exactly what I'm dealing with. As well as some crappy looking fingers near the headlights which is what makes me want to do it off the car. It's really just the headlights that are difficult to work around with it mounted, but the flex making it hard makes sense. Maybe I'll take it off to remove the headlights and then semi-mount it with the headlights removed to wrap it with some support/stability. If you could take some progress shots when you tackle the front bumper again I'd be very grateful!!
