The only conversions I had seen were a hatch in Europe and a cabrio, neither of which were 135i's. Either way, don't really care. I just did this because I loved the look and wanted to make my car more aggressive.

You don't have to justify anything.

The car looks awesome. I can't wait to see the next set with the new wheels.

I'm not sure I would have undertaken the same conversion if not for you posting your success first. Keep us posted on your exhaust solution.

Thank you! Glad I can inspire someone to do what other people might think is stupid lol.

Tomorrow I have the day off so I'm going to be going through ideas. Either way, it will be custom. Any idea on which tips I should order?

OP - car looks great.

In regards to 1m vs 135i convert. The only parts that carry over from my research, motor and front axel carrier, bonnet, boot and the actual shell. I quoted up all the parts to do the conversion correctly and i was up to around $35k AUD without mechanical labour and paint and panel. That is with all new parts tho( the rear end was about 15k of that price, and 1m spec gear box was about 6k). Im sure USA new prices are significantly cheaper than Australia however.

+1. I haven't started my front end conversion yet, but I'll be doing it soon. It was largely inspired by your thread and the guy in Philly who just did the front end.

That is next on the list! Keep in mind, this was a rush job for SEMA so I didn't have time to do exactly everything I wanted. Now that SEMA is over with and the weather is starting to get crappy, M suspension conversion will take place

Once you do that, I think you will have earned the right to use an ///M badge.

I think it'll have enough M parts (or better-than-M parts) with the widebody kit, the suspension bits, the dual-outlet exhaust, a more aggressive tune, bigger intercooler, etc. Unless he doesn't have an LSD yet... that's the only other part that's necessary before you can claim equality to an M. Although the M135i doesn't have an LSD...

That is an awesome looking car! I love the wheels. Any plans to offer those in 18 or 19 inches?
