Hi 2Chainz2 and all,

What did you end up doing with your motor?

I am now in the same position as you were. Heavily modified 2011 N55 135 for Canyon driving with continued metal flakes in oil.

See further details here: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...8#post28643388

I am looking to rebuild or replace......maybe? Depending on research etc.

I have so much invested in the car and I love the car. It is genuinely capable of sticking with GT3's when setup and dialed in right.

Would love to hear your outcome?

Thanks

So I am finally putting the car back together. I got the crank checked and it was fine so I decided to go all forged with king bearings and a VTT Crank lock , and while I was at it did a big single turbo and ditched the ps2.

I havent started it back up waiting on some final parts this week this is how it stands right now

Still need to figure out vacuum system and the butchered wiring. So If anyone has some good guidance on that I would be very grateful

What are your question on the vacuum side? How to plumb the MAC and what to plug?

Yeah basically what of the stock system do I still need what can I eliminate?

I have a Mac solenoid coming in and will run it like this and replace the solenoid pictured below and use that plug

But I also have this part on the car which i have no clue what it is any ideas?

What wastegate are you running? Internal or external?

You can’t use the vacuum lines for a pressure based WG.

3 port MAC?

That plug doesn’t look familiar. Sorry.

Why not? if I pull the vacuum from the turbo itself and use the solenoid to control

dual external 40mm gates

3 port mac is this

Sorry. To clarify, you can’t use lines with vacuum. You need lines with pressure, like the one coming off the turbo you mention in your picture.

You had the pictures of the factory boost solenoid and I was just saying you can’t use that particular line because it’s comes off the valve cover, and it has vacuum only.

All you have to do is cap off the nipples coming off the valve cover that go to the solenoid. I also capped off the stock boost solenoid by running the short piece of OE vacuum hose that originally went from the valve cover to the solenoid and just installed it from one nipple to the next. You just leave the stick boost solenoid plugged in.

What boost controller are you planning to use?

Correct I will not be using that factory solenoid, was going to swap that out with the 3 port mac solenoid.

So basically cap off all vacuum on the valve cover. What about the one on top next to the PCV?

Planning on custom MHD tune and a jb4

Yeah regarding the VC. I’m not sure about the pcv, mine is still going into the intake.

Any particular reason why you are running the JB4? If you are getting a custom tune and you have an AIC for PI, all you need is an EBC like the GFB g force III. No need for the JB4 and you would be able to log with MHD which is light years better in terms of data.

Mostly the only reason is because I already have it. I will be running AIC Split second, BMS Meth injection, I figured the JB4 made it less complicated and would allow me to switch tunes on the fly if I needed to

So you’re running fuel through PI and meth through the CP?

Correct

Pi for added fuel for running e85

Meth goes to the charge pipe for now, may change to a different manifold later if I keep running meth.

Do you think it is worth having a stand alone boost controller? Or jb4 integration is probably fine?

IMO, there are two configurations that I would be willing to trust.

1. MHD custom tune with a motiv reflex. The reflex controls boost, PI, and I believe can also control meth. It will also automatically adjust boost based on e content.

2. MHD custom tune with EBC to control boost, AIC to control PI and a stand alone meth controller like the AEM one. This could be a lower cost route if you can find stuff used. If not it will be more expensive than a reflex and doesn’t make sense at all.

I would most definitely not use the jb4. With how much you have invested, I would go the reflex route. You could sell your current parts to recoup some of the costs and it is the most advanced setup available.

Also keep in mind, the reflex is sequential PI, not batch fire like the AIC. I am not trashing the AIC, I have used one for years and still do. It works. I got my ebc for $70 so that’s the route I went, because of cost. I am also not running meth so that simplifies the setup a little bit. I have used it and it’s awesome but I am old and don’t want to deal with refilling the tank. And I don’t need it for octane anymore. Having said all that, I will go to the reflex one day as well.

I should add, the Gfb ebc has a scramble boost function which I really like and use often so that keeps me content for now.
