JXB Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Carrier Upgrade Question
Howdy,
I recently acquired a 13' 135i 6speed, and I am feeling some rattle/vibration at first and a bit on second gear but goes away afterwards. My educated guess is Center Support Bearing. nonetheless before I asses the issue, I want to pick anyones brain on the JXB "Driveshaft Center Support Bearing Carrier Upgrade" https://www.jxbperformance.com/produ...arrier-upgrade JXB states; "...This upgraded unit keeps the driveshaft firmly in place at all times, and its solid construction ensures it will never wear out. The thick bushings ensure the driveshaft cannot move from center, maintaining driveshaft alignment at all times..." which sounds great, but does anyone have this on there car? I couldn't find any reviews from 1 series owners, and or information on how to acquire the bearing as well. my confusion is that, the center support bearing is sold as a whole part, bearing integrated within rubber type of material supported by a metal type exterior for install and housing. In there install video that have someone use a razor blade to cut out the rubber but leaving some on the bearing? When I look for just the bearing itself I can find them for sale, but without any rubber support. So, question is, do I keep the stock bearing and just do as the instructional video states on there website? or, purchase an additional bearing (rein or cost efficient) to then cut out the bearing and leave the "little" rubber that stated? While im in that area I will also be doing a Guibo(flex disc), and I figured this could just be FEBI. I would appreciate anyones input and or personal experience with JXB |
