I had 3.5 miles on my car when I picked it up and they had to take it down the street to the gas station. 18 miles is too much.

Yup, machine wash. Bad idea? Touchless would be those high pressure washer correct?
Thanks guys. I'll definitely reset the mpg & avg mpg next time around.

The above didn't bother me too much, but you'd think they would baby the car when driving. I mean, only I am allowed to beat on my car, right?

Not much... but then again I only washed it twice at the dealership. It probably got the swirls from me Zaino'ing it with a cheap cotton towel.

Hell, i write down the milage or circle it on the service form that you sign authorizing them to do the work. I also write on that same paper: "NO CAR WASH & NO NEED TO TEST DRIVE for an Oil Change or whatever reason..." If the reason i am in for service has to do with a problem while driving the car and they MUST test drive, I go along for the ride
I let them know that this was NOTHING personal, just had a bad experience at a dealership in the past... |

Just picked mine up on Sunday and it had 6 miles. The paperwork said 4 miles on it so I asked where the 2 miles came from. They checked with the service manager and said it was 2 miles to the gas station. For a full tank of gas, I guess I'll trade pricy gas for 2 miles in my baby.

I used to have a modified Nissan Silvia S15 and I took it into Nissan for a standard service once and when I got it back it had over 50km's on it. The Manager there didn't give a toss even when I showed him the photo proof, he said he believes his staff over me.
Never went back and I have never and will never buy another car from them. I make sure everyone else I know who is looking for a car doesn't go there either. |

For warranty purposes, the in and out mileage MUST be on the repair order. The techs are required to verify the in mileage and correct it if necessary (support staff can be lazy and write down the key read mileage). They also have to write down the out miles. I do this on every RO I work on, whether or not it's warranty.
