Airbag light after changing seats
Swapped my leatherette m sport seats for leather m sport seats from 335i, both cars 2009.
Getting the following codes in inpa MRS5 93BF E2 (Seatbelt for front passenger airbag deactivation inverted) 93CO E2 (Seatbelt for front passenger airbag deactivation: implausible signal) Went into the airbag module—status—ignition circuits All are ok(black dot) All are coded YES(black dot), except rear seat airbags which I don’t think I have. All are Locked(black dot), except airbag driver position 1 and left front seat are marked released. I’ve attached a picture, if anyone can tell me if the black dots are in the right places? Thanks Last edited by 135iblk2009; 07-14-2018 at 08:07 AM.. Reason: Miss spell |

I put the 135i seats back in, no codes after I clear them, inpa lights up the same buttons in the ignition circuits status page.
I guess going by the description of the faults it has something to do with deactivating the passenger airbag? Do E93s have the switch on the left end of the dashboard and we e82s only go by the seat pad sensor? Does anyone have that switch in the passenger or jam area? Could it be looking for the deactivation switch signal? |

Translation of the German text that accompanies the error...
signal or value below threshold. test conditions met. Error currently available and already saved. fault was caused by the lighting up of a warning lamp. no matching error symptom. |

In the process of switching the belt buckles. I now notice the on my original seats without airbags the extra wiring harness (with only 2 wires in it) goes to a seat position sensor on the inside seat rail. On the 335i seats with airbags the same 2 wire connector runs to the back of the seat and then up inside presumably to the airbag.
If I move the position sensors over to the new seats I guess I’ll have no airbags but maybe no lights on the dash either? |

Well, the codes were for the seat position sensors. Swapped them over from the old seats, cleared codes, no more lights on the dash. Just left the other ones that were on the seats unplugged and tucked away, maybe they just have different styles of sensor?

I may not be in the right place, but I'll give this a shot. I bought and immaculate 128i fully loaded vert blk with lemon boston leather interior. 1 week later, a 16 yo kid hit me and totaled it!!! I am now looking to buy another 128i with fewer miles, and put my seats/interior in the car I will buy. I have been offered to keep the car and get a smaller settlement or give their insurance the title and they keep the car. Bottom line is are all seats/interior interchangeable? I have to give them an answer by tomorrow Ii took me an entire year to find my car and am heartbroken to say the least.

I’m pretty sure they are. I sold my old leatherette sport seats to a guy with a e92 335i 2011. We did have to swap over his active headrests from the old seats, since mine didn’t have them. Cleared codes, all good.
