2007 BMW 120i for sale in Texas
Strange. I assume it came from Mexico and was exported to the US?

im thinking the same thing. i would make sure it has a clear US title and then i would have DMV look it over first.

You just described the 1 Series in general.
I would love for my car to be a 5 door hatch instead of a stupid coupe. Same great driving dynamics and that level of practicality?

this this. I love the coupe styling but a hatch would be SO much more convenient for my day to day needs.

22k is insane for a 120i(I've seen 2008 135i's low mileage go for that much) and I doubt it would be cheap to insure even if it is US road legal.

Plus the engine of that car (i-4 NA) was probably one of the most uninspiring engines made by BMW, I remember reviews when it was launched saying it had no character at all. Not too sure about practicality, I had lots of experience with the hatch in Europe and I actually find the coupe as practical, especially the trunk

i texted the buyer to see if the car was road legal... I will let u guys know when he hits me back.
I had one of these in europe for a bit. It was slow but it was a neat car. not worth $22k though. |

This happens in texas every once in a while.
Basically the car is legal for US sale but needs to be immediately exported back to Mexico upon sale. |

They want their image here to be upmarket expensive cars. Same reason they brought over the idiotic 335d instead of the more sensible diesels like the 320d. Looks like that might change in the F30 though.

There used to be a trick a while back where a company used to bring in Cosworth Escorts into California and register them. Some how they were able to bring them in as Cosworth Escorts and not Ford Escort Cosworth. Since Cosworth wasn't considered a mass car producer it didn't need to have DOT crash test studies done in the US, they just needed to basically pass emissions. It was basically registered the same way you would a kit car. Or something like that.
