Angel eyes voltage drop
Hi all
I've just replaced my H8 bulbs for my angel eyes/daytime running lights. Initially, I was very pleased as i have DRL on as default and after installing the bulbs, they looked brilliant and white, not dissimilar from the stock xenons colouring. However, I noticed that if i turned off the DRL and instead turned on the park lights, the angel eyes would dim and the colour would change to a slighly more yellowish colour, not dissimilar to stock. The same thing happens when turning on the xenons from DRL, the angel eyes dim and the xenons come on. I'm not tech minded but from what I can figure, this is a voltage drop? Is this normal? Cheers

I think on DRL are suppose to be brighter since they are used more during the day and then dim a little when headlights or parking lights are turned on. This how mine work on the stock angel eyes on both my 1er and 6er.
Could you post pics of the white halos? I'd like to see the difference and look.

As requested, here are pics of my new "White" angel eyes
Before: After: I'm pretty happy with the result. As I said though, when you turn on the xenon lights, the rings do fade to a more yellow colour, rather than the white as seen above, but i'm happy that the DRL's look that good

Wow!! That does look good. Where do you get the bulbs? Are they easy to replace? That would also probably look sweet on my white 6er. Thanks for posting the pics!!

Thanks.
I got them from Jlevi SW's commercial thread here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12011 Installation - well, i've heard people struggle due to the space you have to work in but between my brother and myself, we had both sides changed out in 15mins. They are just a replacement bulb so clip-in/clip-out style. It's accessing the bulbs which is the time consuming part.

Normal.
1. Brighter when on as DRL only (or with parking lights) 2. Voltage drop with HIDs/mains on 3. Compared with HIDs, they will look 'less white', 'more yellow'
