Has anyone bought one of these? (seat protector)

If you have bought this seat protector, please let me know if it works and how it fits. I just checked with Dan from United BMW and he could not verify whether it worked and fit properly. We have dogs and this would be useful for occasional transport.

No. I don't care for it.

I ordered the trunk liner instead and would use a comforter if I needed to store or transport something temporarlly.

That can be a problem.

I'd still go with the comforter and maybe a dog safety belt.

The item above looks awful and cheap (imo).

i was too thinking of this, but i am curious as to how it will work with a coupe... ie... how does the dog get in?
it seems to be more for the 5 door hatch.

You are probably right about the 5 door hatch, but I will just pick my dog up and drop him in there. My wife told me the only way she would approve my purchase of the 1 was if I allowed to dogs to ride with us. So needless to say, I have to come up with some kind of solution.

I have purchased the seat protector for when my Husky rides with me. It looks nothing like the picture. It is more of a form fitted rear seat cover with covers for the side arm rests. It works well to keep my pet's nails from damaging the leather.
I scanned the installation sheet that came with mine so you can see how it fits.

I ordered one for my new 128i vert and I LOVE it!! I have a black lab that goes everywhere with me, so I really need it.
The only thing that's a misrepresentation in the 1st picture is that it doesn't cover up the back of the front seats, otherwise, it's perfect and fits like a glove.
Most importantly, it doesn't move around when the dog stands up, moves around, etc. A comforter would be slick against the leather and would not do you any good IMO. I've tried it in other cars.

I want to look into the BMW seat cover also, I have a yellow lab and she always rides with me. My friend and I are using the seat hammock below for our dogs and it works pretty well. So if you guys need a temp solution, you can buy this at pet smart. I guess the reason this hammock works so well is because my lab just sleeps the entire time shes in the car.

I thought this option was only for the front seats? Where did you get the rear set up? What color does it come in?

See my post before yours for the link to where I purchased it from.
As far as I know it only comes in black/charcoal color.

I'll snap some pictures of the actual covers today at lunch and post them.

Can you use the dog harness belts with the seat covers? My dogs do not stay put and just sleep when we take them in the car. They like to try and jump in the front seat and ride in our lap

At least they are just small Corgi's though:wink:

The seat covers retain the factory functioning of the rear seatbelts.

WOW... looks better then I thought! Thanks Turbo for the pic!

When I first looked at your above post with the install sheet, it seemed more like a giant seat cover, I didn't realize it was the "protector" avail from BMW. It looks so dif from the pic on BMW's site the way it fits.

BMW lists it only in "Grey". You mentioned black... was black avail from United, or somewhere else?

I ordered one from Dan at United. Thanks for posting the pic and the instructions. I am a little dissapointed that it does not cover the back of front seats. Does anyone have an idea how I can keep teeh dogs from trying to get up front?
