Coilover install help!!! Quick!

Had ST Coilovers installed by a friend of a friend. Took the car for a test drive after the install and heard some knocking from the rear.

A little investigation yielded this (see photo). Does anyone know how to fix this? I would imagine part of the install is incorrect and I should be able to fix this myself, just can't figure out what he did wrong.

Are there additional original pieces perhaps that should have been reused which weren't?

There should have been a second washer from the stock setup that's reused to prevent that from happening, item 5/6 :

Hmm looking at your picture closer, it looks like you installed that piece in upside down, it's supposed to go on the shock shaft before it's passed through the hole.

Looks like it wasn't installed correctly.

I would look in the DIY section on this forum or E-90 post, there's probably instructions with pics posted already.

If that doesn't work, I would go to a shop and ask for help. Most of the work is done, so it shouldn't cost much.

Thanks for the diagram! It ended up being that part #4 from the original assembly was missing. It also happens thats the part which prevents the shock from pushing up through the wheel well .

I definitely searched th DIYs and the instructions from ST are basically non-existent. But we got it sorted out in the end.

It is definitely #4 that is missing. That is the washer that takes the bump load with the bump cushion, without the shaft would just go through the tower.
