Tooling is available and designs are done for the rear two piece but need more requests and pre-order to justify the production.

Anyone interested can express interest here so we can set up to accept pre-orders.

Ezeedee,

Thanks for rallying support for RB on the 1addicts forums. Warren is out of town for another week and he manages new product development and group buys. He will be able to respond when he gets back in town or if he logs in.

Our usual procedure is to run the group buy from our own forums rather than an external forum. When all of those interested folks commit by signing up at our forum, then we begin production on the rotor.

Stay tuned - you are still on our radar.

Mike

Better cooling and the ability to replace only the disc not the whole rotor

Xaeryan, I think I remember you use DTC60s. Are your rear brakes overheating now? Would you swap rear rotors for track or leave them in?

I was gifted the DTC 70F/60R combo, but have not had any track outings with them yet... the outings I did have were with HP+ front and rear, so I'm not sure if my experience with them is helpful since they have a pretty low temp threshold anyway (800-900 degrees). That being said, yeah, I totally overheated the rear HP+ pads, and I don't believe the eDiff contributed much (if any) to the problem.

But to answer your question, I WILL be swapping in rear discs for track outings, if for nothing else to avoid re-bedding every time and mixing possibly incompatible pad materials. (I currently have a set of rear OEM replacement discs I got for 45 bucks @ ECS Tuning). If the two-piece discs are lighter and (hopefully) lower temps, that's an added bonus for me.

it might not be quite 5 pounds, since rotor is smaller, but the aluminum hat is what shaves most of the weight. i just dont want someone to be upset if they get the rotor and it weighs 4.7 pounds less, you know what i mean? do you want me to put your name down on the list?

no, they said they would make rears if enough interest was generated. thats what this thread is for. If enough people want it, they will make them.

ezeedee, did they tell you how many interested ppl they ae lloking for to start the production?
20 Pounds of unsprung weight is a big deal. I would get these rotors right now if they were available.

Yeah they never responded back to my question either. BTW these rotors are 2 mm thicker. Not sure how you can squeeze a new set of pads especially if you have ti shims. Would have been interested if it was oe width. Also it wouldn't hurt with sales if they reply back to potential customers emails. Just saying...

2 mm thicker is a good thing. The reason our oem rotors suck is because they are too thin. Their website is saying that they fit with no issue. Also, we may not need to use ti shims with improved cooling of two piece rotors as they claim.

David, have you had any overheating problems with your rear brakes? I've only had problems in front so far, but I haven't tried a really aggressive pad yet.

If I hadn't replaced my pads 3 times already and hadn't seen how tight of a squeeze it was, I may have believed them too. Glad you guys will try out first
