I had mine done when the car went it for a broken charge pipe. As you can see from my previous posts, I was hesitant to get it done as well. However, I'm glad to report I have no issues since the recall. No squeaks or rattles either.

There is no time limit, as it is a safety issue. Had mine done last month after buying the car - hardly a big deal, and if it prevents a potential fire...

Based in UK. Mine was done today too apparently. Hoping this fixes the battery excessive drain messages I've been tolerating for the past year. This was done at the same time as Syntner Nottingham were replacing failed water pump. Water pump failure was a fun experience on the A46 on Saturday but was fixed quickly and handled well by BMW extended warranty. car is being transported back to me in Reading tomorrow.
