Mirror Memory (dumb question, sorry)
For the life of me I cannot figure out when mirror positions are stored in the key with these cars. I have two keys and I use them interchangeably... and each has slightly different mirror positioning stored. Drive me nuts. How do I get these to be exactly the same for both keys?

I did this this morning because I used the spare key. Let me know if it works. |

Thanks for chiming in
The problem is mirror settings take effect when the key is first inserted. And so if key #1 has the settings I want, the second I insert key #2 (settings I do not want), those mirror settings (for key #2) go into effect. There is no way (that I can see) to transfer mirror settings from one key to the other. It's a small thing, but I'd rather not have my mirror gears and motors move at all if they don't need to (wear I do not need). Does that make sense?

One key has my gym key fob dangling from it, the other does not. I don't need/want to carry my gym key fob if I don't need it, these things crack in your pocket and the ring is annoying. And so I take the one key to my gym and use the other for everything else. The mirror settings for each are very close... but unlock the door with one, and mirrors move to the position saved for that key. I can't figure out how to save one over to the other, it just doesn't seem possible and it's driving me crazy.

I didn't even know the keys had this feature. I'm sure I don't have it stored because when I move my seats/mirrors around they don't seem to revert to any particular position the next time I enter the car.

It stops the car from resetting the position when u unlock - then u can use the 1 & 2 buttons on the seat to adjust. Method 2: Open with key 1 & lock with key 2 - supposedly the settings are saved to the FOB when the car is locked (BMW SA advice). This didn't work consistently for me though, YMMV |

Another way is to set everything the way you like & save to key 1 by pressing lock Then put key 2 in and reset the mirrors again to where u like & save to key 2 Basically u will have to do the same thing twice everytime u touch ur mirror settings. |
