New to fourms, Got a 135i any help would help
Hello guys, I'm a new member to 1addicts.com and just purchased my first bimmer and first car. I really want to change up a couple of things on the car but don't want to spend to much and don't want it to be to hard to change. Anyone have any recommendations? Its a 2008 BMW 135i Black exterior and exterior. Any help would mean a lot.

Get a CF trunk lid wing off ebay, you can get one for like $160 and put it on yourself with some 3m tape
or some lowering springs with would run you around $300 these cars arnt cheap though, which means the mods arnt either, there really not that much stuff you can get for cheap.

I was thinking the same thing. Can I change the trunk lid from black to cf? and can I paint the grill from sliver to matte black? or should I buy them?

It'll end up looking much nicer and be more cost effective to just buy the black grilles. $200 doesn't leave you with many other options.

spend $100.00 on the black performance grilles and the other $100.00 on Lottery tickets, maybe you get lucky and win some major mod money.

If you only have a couple hundred bucks, best thing to invest in is getting your windows tinted. Makes the car looks better and keeps the interior cooler in the summer. Win Win!!

I have not tinted yet but it is on my list. Little things I've completed include new matte black grills, different valve stem caps (hate the BMW plastic ones), painting my brake calipers red (I have a 128i), installing the idrive drink holder (a third cup holder for me - or a second usable one), debadging, installing mud flaps, and most recently installing the BMW umbrella. Another one I am thinking of is the BMW road hazard triangle with bracket. And I also installed a Garmin nuvi 885t on the bracket for the BMW portable pro on the dash. I did not previoiusly have bluetooth so I use the nuvi as my bluetooth phone connection to the car and as a MP3 player.

Just like people said, tint or grills. Other mods will likely cost you $500 or more a piece. Wheels can be really expensive, and you'll be looking at $1000-1500+ for a good coilover kit. Some cosmetic mods will run you around $200+. So if you want anything else, start saving up for them.
If you are going to get the grills, check out the DIY section for a well written how-to. You can find a lot of info on these forums. Welcome and congrats on the car. |

I'm a new member too! I just purchased a 2012 135i convertible. I've been driving bimmers since 96. As far as mods go, I would go slowly. Maintenance and the cost of new tires when needed are probably more than you think.
