is this 135i worth it?

it has bmw performance carbon fiber spoiler, diffuser, side view mirrors
kw variant 2 coilovers
i forget which rims
and relaly good upgraded stereo amp and such.

for 31.5k
and hes including the stock suspension for 250 more so i can still get warranty for that hahaha

I'm buying this from a private owned, is there anyway to check if he dined in for his performance parts?

The one on craigslist? That one has Breyton GTS-R wheels. It's a nice 1, that's for sure. Don't know the owner or anything about it though.

Bluebook seems to be right around 28-30k for it before the BMW Performance and other add ons. Looks to be priced appropriately, I guess.

All depends on the market in Hawaii and how much value you place on the mods. To me I see it and ask if I would rather have this or a new 11 model for a few k more with a full warranty and better financing, and it would be an easy choice...

Agreed with Angry 3. An alpine white 135i with a sports package would have a ~37,500 MSRP brand new, with the N55 engine which will hopefully not have HPFP problems like the N54. So far no reports as far as I know. You could also get an M-Sport package for the same price with the black headliner, M Sport wheels, etc.

If you plan to do the same mods to the car, then the '08 on craigslist may look like a good deal.

i saw it at the bavarian motor sports service shop when i was servicing my moms bimmer

wait so the new n55 engine is a lot better than the n54?
and essentially everything else for 37,500 without the performance parts?
cause i previously didnt think those mods would look nice, but after seeing it in person it really does make the car look pretty awesome hahaha
but would the new engine and longer warranty be worth the extra 6000?

It's not that the N55 is "better" but it's different. The N54 has fuel pump problems that happens on a lot of cars, though some owners are lucky and never have a problem. The 2011s also have iPod connectivity and leather standard, so you wouldn't have to pay extra for those if you decided to go for a new car.

I'm not saying his car isn't a good deal, it seems like a fine deal, especially with all the parts added on.

By the way, I'm not sure if the car is still up for sale. I just checked craigslist again and his post was deleted. His For Sale post on bimmerforums.com Hawaii section is also edited out.

but my brother is convincing me not to as i surf everyday and he says

The problems on the N54 are not bad at all. The factory warranty on the HPFP was already increased to 10 years / 100k miles, so you're covered.

Also, don't let your brother tell you the car isn't practical just because you surf a lot. Look at mine The BMW Rack and Surfboard Attachment is very good. I often carry 2 longboards, my 8'6 and my cousins 8'0 when we surf together.

Either at home (I live on the water @ Wailupe) or Rockpiles normally.

Why does he not recommend it? Other than surfing (which really isn't bad, I have no problem with it) I think it's a very practical car.
