135i M Sport Convertible Le Mans Blue / Lemon
I couldn't find any pictures of the colour combination I'd ordered, so I thought I'd post a few in case anyone else is considering Le Mans Blue and Boston Lemon.
I was very lucky with the wait; I was initally told 3 months, but it turned up in less than a month. Just in time for the beginning of what passes for a Summer in the UK...

Thanks. I wasn't quite sure how the combination would look but I love it. I test drove a Montego Blue / Lemon 125i which was beautiful, but I but wanted the 135i M Sport, which comes in a different set of colours here, the only blue being Le Mans. I also test drove a 335i in Le Mans, mainly to try the engine, but it also gave me an idea of the colour (but not how it looked with Lemon). Now that I've got it I think I very slightly prefer it to Montego, although they are very similar. And the most common comment I've had about the car from non-car fans is "I like the colour - very blue"!

Fantastic color combination! I'm trying to decide between Montego and Crimson, but am sold on the Lemon interior regardless. Thanks for posting the pics. Your car looks great!

I think the lemon is badly named because you assume that it will be clearly yellow, when in fact it's much more of an ivory colour with the barest hint of yellow. I guess it is like the inside of lemon peel as some people have noted, but I still wouldn't have called it lemon. In fact if it hadn't been in the demonstrator I drove then I probably would have disregarded it as an option, and missed out on it, purely because of its name. Even a swatch wouldn't have convinced me that it wouldn't have looked too yellow in real life, which it definitely doesn't.
The thing I like about it best is that it's a light/dark two-tone, which has always appealed to me. The black carpets are also a lot more practical than lighter ones. Hopefully the leather itself isn't too difficult to keep clean.

Your car is great :eyebulge: but how about the white interior? Is it getting dirty very easily or not? If you wear a jeans, the color gets of on the seat?
Because my girlfriend would like to buy a 1 conv next year and she loves black with lemon interior but I think it's too hard to maintain (to keep it clean).. |

Love that combo. If I didn't have kids, I'd have got it. But, kids+white=disaster.
Congrats!

I haven't had an problem with jeans causing marks so far, but I've only had it less than a week. I'd be interested to hear the experiences of people who've had the lemon leather for longer. Have I commited myself to hours of cleaning in the future?

yikes, hardest color outside and inside to care for. How about some white wheels, too? I had a mkI Peugeot 106 rallye in black w/ white wheels. Can't keep the dirt off the paint or brake dust off the wheels. All I needed was lemon interior. That LeMans Blue looks gorgeous, and I'm sure it looks better in person since the camera has a hard time getting the blue without overexposing the lemon. |

It is a great blue - very deep and seems to vary appropriately according to the conditions.
First impressions are that it's not too bad a colour to keep clean. After a couple of hundred miles on mostly wet roads (standard for June in the UK) my car is looking a lot cleaner than my girlfriend's black car, which was cleaned at about the same time and has done less miles since. The blue cars I've had in the past have been slightly more difficult than most to keep clean (I've been lazy and gone for silver and grey cars recently), but I'd be surprised if it's as hard to keep clean as the black or white cars I've had. Time will tell I guess. The lemon leather, however, is another matter. I'm hoping that it won't be too bad because it will mainly be just me in the car, and I'll mostly be wearing suit trousers. I also don't tend to do too many miles. I usually wear jeans when not commuting, so that will be the test, but I chose the colour in the expectation of having to clean it frequently so I won't complain if I have to. And so far it's completely unmarked, despite my sitting in it wearing jeans for many hours already, both driving and playing with iDrive. Again, time will tell.

Totally great looking. If I purchase a convertable, Lemon will def. be the interior choice. Great looking and very cool in the summer. I can't believe people who have black interiors in conv's. I was in 1 once and never again on a HOT sunny summer day.

But yes, have to agree, the lemon being the lightest interior colour would be the hardest to look after, although long term wear and tear aspects like creases, shining up etc. you get with leather interiors, would be more of a problem with the darker colours  BTW that combination above looks spectacular - I'd put up with the maintanance issues, just to have an awesome eye catching and exciting colour combination - that's what's it's all about, making your heart beat  |
