Any scenic road out of Manhattan?

HI All,

For those live in the city, do you have any recommendation of route outside of Manhattan for a good drive? Scenic?

Thanks!

Keep an eye on the tristate page. We post up meets pretty often and anyone is welcome.

As far as roads go, around Bear is your best bet for close. a lot of the roads off of rt 17 through the middle of the state up past monticello are pretty fun. theres also a Llama farm

A nearby one: Palisades interstate park: Henry Hudson Dr. From GWB turn left, via Fort Lee (south), to get to the entrance. Nice picknick grounds. A very short but scenic forest drive, and very close to the city. (Mostly go there by bike)

Rt 22 through westchester heading north. Get to Carmel NY and go down rt301 to Cold Spring. Or rt 7 in CT north all the way along the husatonic and stop at LimeRock to see where your next track day will be.

Palisades runs parralel to the Hudson River and has some nice views. Several lookout points along the way Northbound. Keep going further you'll get to Bear Mountain and nearby West Point Military Academy. West Point is a great place to spend the day. Beautiful grounds and museums.

I enjoy the drive up Route 9, you can take it all the way to Albany. Can't drive FAST very often, but its pleasing to the eye. =]

Saw Mil Parkway between 287 and 684, actually scenic on the half close to 684. Meritt Pkwy in CT is not bad, not great though. No tucks on Pkwy, that's what I like.
