Engine running too hot issue?
So I have zero idea on why this is an issue since the car ran flawlessly for the past year and 8 months with the same set-up.
Stock N55 except I got a JB4. So I switched cars for about 2 weeks and I had my car parked in a open air garage for that time. The weather got cold recently (like below freezing high 20s at nights) for the last week or so. So I started driving my car again 2 days ago and the first day it ran fine, engine went up to temp fine, and nothing happened. Then yesterday, went to a thanksgiving dinner. On the way, Hot engine temperature came up. even though the oil cooler was still at the normal 230-240ish degrees. Engine went into safe mode and refused to go over 2k RPM. I asked my local group and the they pretty much agreed that it's the waterpump that failed. Any other opinions on this before I take it in? |

+1 on the water pump. It's happened to me twice. Make sure that you also replace the T-Stat while down there.
